x360: Quantum Of Solace Preview

Imagine the state of the global games industry if, instead of visionary designers pushing the art forward by sticking their necks out and implementing untested gameplay mechanics, design decisions were based on market research. By majority opinion, chosen from a recycle-bin of tried and tested ideas from previously successful games. This approach to design, far from being something to shy away from, seems to be a point of pride for Treyarch when applied to Bond's latest videogame incarnation.

Explaining to x360 that during its focus groups, respondents wanted to see through Bond's eyes, but also see him on-screen, for example, and how that has led to a Rainbow Six Vegas-style 50/50 approach to POV.
