3rd article from these guys now damage controlling a false rumour they circulated in the first place.

ninsigma1142d ago

What was the rumour?? Didn't hear about this??

Eonjay1142d ago

The rumor was that Xbox One would be the better version becase the developers prefer that platform. Therefore Xbox One would be optomized and PS4 would not.

Forn1142d ago

This is getting kind of funny.

I don't think this site is to be trusted at all, this is from the article:
'"Just Cause 3 is developed on all consoles using DirectX11." Said Lesterlin'

Which is utter nonsense, there's only one console that uses DirectX and that's the Xbox One, so this quote does not make sense...

Spenok1142d ago (Edited 1142d ago )

I.E. that statement is wrong.

Aenea1142d ago

Yeah, no shit, the PS4 does not use DirectX, that's what I was saying...

TheXgamerLive1141d ago

A march 2013 article, lol, and yes the ps4/sony consoles do not use MS/DirectX anything, sorry but they use open GL and its very good on it's own.

Spenok1141d ago (Edited 1141d ago )

It's a DirectX 11.2+/Open GL modified with sony custom features.

So again, you are wrong, they do use DirectX, as well as Open GL.

Aenea1141d ago

Seriously dude, have you read the comments of both those articles?

Now try and find info that's actually correct, ok?

The PS4 does NOT use DirectX. DirectX is a MS API, Sony is not going to use MS software inside their console. It would also mean it has to run Windows since DirectX is too interwoven with the Win OS.

That slide in the gamespot thread says clearly that it has a similar feature set as DirectX 11.2 and OpenGL 4.4 not that it actually uses DirectX 11.2 and OpenGL 4.4. They use their own APIs called GNMX and GNM.
