Electronic Arts is holding its Gamescom press conference in Cologne, and the publisher just showcased a new gameplay trailer of Mirror’s Edge Catalyst.
Trailer is "100% in-game" From beginning to end. I find that amazing to believe. The people look insanely detailed. I hope it stays this way throughout it's development.
Looks insanely realistic and this is our gaming future.
Wow, that was great. I might just have to fire up origin when that comes out, so so so detailed!
Awsome. Love the way she breaths. I wonder, how many of this glass physics etc. is only nvidia & PC, and how many of these we will see on consoles?
Well based on Nvidia's past lies (I have a GTX 970) ahem...Batman. The PC version will not only NOT have the glass physics, but it will also be missing assets that the console version has and run and look much worse. So I would not fret if I were you.
You don't have a 970.
Can't say I loved the constant panting. It's more realistic but it just kinda made me feel like I needed to drink a glass of water or something. Still, if you loved it I'd be willing to compromise and say they can keep it in as long as she stops panting while she's also talking on the radio.
Jinryo I believe if the card sponsor plans continue the way they do EA is on AMD's side, but if something was announced and Nvidia effects are in the game that's great! :)
Needs a fov slider. *burb* ^^
It's prequel right? Looks awesome btw.
Yes, it's prequel. But why people hate prequel games ?
I don't actually but most ppl want something new to move along with and they already know how things end so it won't be that exciting.
It's actually a reboot and not a prequel
Ah cool loved the original, can't wait for this.
That looks pretty sweet as well. So many awesome games on the... 'Horizon'😉
Looks good? Absolutely. Looks fun? .....Um.
It looks so GOOD!!
But is it open world? Can I get to that building the way I want?
Watching Tron legacy could not help think that the love interest Olivia Wilde reminded me of this protagonist , with her look in the film.
This is awesome!!!
another EA game that i'm interested in but probably wont be picking up on day one. looks great and i'll definitely play it once it hits the EA Access Vault
Need Oculus with this asap.
Yupyupyup!!! Hopefully they add mod support instead of a seasons pass
Looks brilliant, the only thing i don't like about it is how different Faith looks.
I still think the environment looks a little busy and not as cleanly beautiful as the first game. You can tell they've tried to keep the same look to some extent and little parts like the corridor before she enters the room with the weird ninja hacker fellow are pure Mirror's Edge. It just seems like it's probably harder with the more advanced graphics to make the colours pop quite as much as they did in the first game. The colours made the first game feel like a 90's sci fi anime. Despite the same slick design a lot of what I saw in that video looked a lot like walking around the more modern parts of my local town center. Ideally I'd maybe even have liked a very slight cel shaded look for this game. Still I'm extremely glad they're sticking with it being all about the chase and that Faith didn't make a single thing explode with a rocket launcher.
I'd reserve judgement on how the color's "pop" until you see it live on your screen. Those types of things always come across far better direct from the console.
Hmmm.... Looks good. A little too good if you ask me.. Why is there no trash? Everything is so clean, spic n span..
If it's anything like the first game it's set in a police state basically where everything's clean and 'perfect' because everyone's being watched all the time and will be punished harshly for something as small as littering.
Loved that aspect of it, reading the messages in the elevator and how the citizens believe they have choice and democracy when there's "all the news you need" (or it was simple propaganda). "Is your kid a runner?"
lol, That explains it then! Never played one of these games obviously.. Figured there was a reason though, thanks for clarifying.
Fantastic. The only thing I found kinda disapointing is the sound work. The original had much more distinct area sound effects and faiths grunts and screams were also a bit more noticeable. I hope they'll improve on that. Overall it looked a bit more smoother than in the previous game.
Hoping that will come with time, the acoustics in the first one were spot on in my opinion, it sounded deep, you know?
"Overall it looked a bit more smoother than in the previous game." 60 FPS. It's DICE so they're likely using Frostbite, which means they'll be aiming for 60 FPS on consoles too. Should be good.
I played Mirrors Edge on both, PC and PS3. Im not talking about the framerate. I mean that some of the animations and camera work link together much better but on the other hand, it lacks some of the more rough camera movement of the original that was appropriate for some situations.
Wow that looks awesome! Reminds me a lot of the original, but this looks really good. Can't wait to play it.
Looks interesting. And as for the graphics, I'm speechless.
I need to play the first Mirrors edge. Got if for free on PS3. Frostbite 3 looks great
looks good, the graphics look a little odd in places though, like some of the pipes and things but thats just me being picky, cant wait to grip this one ^_^
the game looks amazing! can't wait!!!
