PSInsider author writes: Take a journey with me as we discuss a side scrolling, platforming, action adventure game called Abyss Odyssey: Extended Dream Edition. This is the definitive version of a game of the same name that was released a year ago for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. The version that we will discuss today introduces competitive multiplayer, a few new enemy types, and a harder difficulty mode called “nightmare”. Picked it up when it was 9 bucks on PSN. Not a bad little game. They really improved the framerate from the PS3 version last year (that version sucked). Plays like Rogue Legacy so if you liked that game, you should like this.

Wow. I didn't encounter the same game on PS4 at all. Co-op is especially frustrating due to the camera just giving up when characters are too far apart - and in a vertical game like this, it's common. At least they now have an option to turn the friendly fire off, because good lord. The designs, too - the tells are zilch on whether or not you're jumping into an instant-death pit or jumping down to where you need to go. The battle system's cool for fifteen minutes and then it's super-repetitive and stale. The framerate is still wonky! Faster than on PS3, but it's so bumpy despite the hardware bump.
