Rare Replay review | MMGN

Ben Salter of MMGN: Rare Replay is an amazing value-packed compilation of the greatest games created by one of the most iconic video game developers in history. Rare created a lot of the mechanics that are second nature in modern games, across both the 2D and 3D landscapes, with a unique style still prevalent today. Snapshot challenges makes some of the older games more accessible to a picky 2015 audience, but the control schemes on the Nintendo 64 games haven’t held up well. An option to customise button layouts would have been appreciated. For AU $50 it's money well spent for a dozen classics, let alone 30 of them. Rare is one of very few developers that defined my childhood gaming, and it's been a pleasure to replay my favourite games, and some I'd never played before, on Xbox One with a cheeky grin on my face.
