The Vita is the best handheld I've owned since the GBA, it's awesome.

Just need confirmation on a Vita Final Fantasy 12 HD release and then my life will be complete.

12 million in almost 4 years is not good. it's worse then wii u territory but it is definitely a nice handheld. problem is not too many seem to care which leads to poor software support and the catch-22 scenario. limited compelling games means less chances of ever gaining traction.

Whoever said that Wii U mess. Hate to even argue this but they came out the same year about the same price and Wii U is still 2-1.5 mil behind Vita with a "more marketable brand" in no way are these suitable sales for either console and yes one is a handheld and the other a home. But people still argue this. And if you are use the most info you can get and stop being bias.
Both suffer from marketing blunders but fact still stands there are more Vitas sold than Wii U's as of right now I'm not saying it's better or whatever that's not the point just sales in response to a few comments hope that helps some

the wii u came out in november 2012, the playstation vita came out december 2011 so it is not the same year. the psp sold 80 million units and it's from sony, one of the top marketable brands out there. and you talk about others being biased?

helps who? both systems failed to gain traction with consumers, is there really any need at all to defend the lack of sales?

they said that the ffxii remake/remaster was a mistake http://n4g.com/news/1767705...

I would like to see official numbers from Sony.

BlackPanther359d ago

When you are getting outsold pretty badly by your competition you tend not say total sales.

MegaRay359d ago

Sony is ashamed of Vita. They wont talk about it even if it sold 20mil.

If people weren't so stuck with all of this triple A stuff, Vita would be in a better place right now.

And to tell u the truth, i don't remember the portable gaming being about triple A stuff and Western support.

"If people weren't so stuck with all of this triple A stuff, Vita would be in a better place right now."

Or, if Sony were to support the Vita better from the beginning, then it would be in a better place right now...

G3n3raL86358d ago

Even without Sony's 1st party support, you can still see a strong 3rd party support from Japan.

Vegamyster358d ago

Not everyone just wants JRPG's which is primarily what the system gets, doesn't help that Sony doesn't even advertise the system anymore, heck they literally showed it for 10 seconds during their E3 Press conference.

paul-p1988359d ago

Even if it has taken a long time to reach this milestone it's good to know it is still selling. At least then Japan will keep supporting it, and I can get my JRPG's :)
