In No Man’s Sky your gun is a multitool wonder

GR:

"As nebulous a concept as a procedurally-generated spare exploration sim might sound on the surface, the closer we come to actually playing No Man's Sky for real, the more developer Hello Games astounds us with new features and attractions (come on, you know you're going to name a planet after it least one genital)."

Wow, I imagine with modding on PC, it can bring out the best in artistry in some of us.

Still very excited and looking forward to what the community can do with modding in this game.

I worry about modding an online game though. I still haven't decided if I will get it on ps4 or pc due to this. That said pc mods could bring this game even further into the future.

Well, technically speaking, this is an online game but the developers said you will probably never meet your friends in the expanded universe so it is a bit different than say MMORPG or other online games.

Besides, instead of having computer generated galaxy, planets, lifeforms, and space ships, in the PC version, people potentially can create new universes like a Star Wars Galaxy with planets, ships, lifeforms from its Universe for you and I to explore due to the modding community and I suspect the PC game will be the more popular version due to that feature alone.

Even though I have a PS4 as well, the PC version has greater potential and possibilities and that is my version of choice as both now are releasing on the same day will make it that much easier to choose the PC version. Get the PC version is my recommendation.

I do hope they keep the PC players away from the console players though, don't want to one day look around this game and that every single planet has already been named because someone created a mod on the PC to do so...

@Rookie
I do wonder if what you say is even possible, the universe is generated and it's done on the servers since everyone can visit the same planets and see what others have named it and/or done to it. Unless they create their own servers to go with the mod of course...

@Aenea,

You do not need an internet connection to play the game. Sean Murray said it himself and it is confirmed. He says "You don't need an internet connection to work".

So in essence, all you have to do is download the mod created by users or a group and you can play with them offline, no servers are needed. Like I said, this game is more single player discovery focus and is not a like a game like Destiny or a full MMORPG in which you need to connect to a server in order to run the game so modding will definitely happen on the PC version.

I can already see a Deep Space 9 sector in one corner of the galaxy while downloading another mod pack will see a Star Wars galaxy in another section of the Universe. The possibilities are endless and you should be excited if you are a PC gamer.

I'm so on the fence with this game I'm getting splinters in my backside.
