With Microsoft’s recent reveal of the 1TB version of the Xbox One the question has to be asked ‘Why was it a measly 500GB in the first place?’ The need for an external hard drive has never been greater.
I have the 1TB version Forza console pre ordered with an extra 1TB hard drive so i should be fine for a bit.
What we need is a change to replace the original drive..not to use SSD, for example as a secondary drive only..very stupid problem..OS speed makes me cry sometimes..multitasking is particularly bad when game loads, apps will not open..you can not send a message, etc...to spend some time, while you wait. I guess the problem comes from the bad OS optimization, slow CPU cores or HDD itself.
What we need is a chance to stop seeing trolls commenting in Xbox threads... very stupid problem. We know the XB1 was designed for the Win 10 OS which is coming soon, the system has more CPU power than PS4, and you can add a better quality, higher capacity, cheaper drive(or more) externally than internally already.
The bottom line is: ...You can't use SSD as a boot drive..nowadays when the prices are so low, it's nonsense not to use it in ANY SYSTEM. ...OS is slow at multitasking, while I write this and for quite some time now..that matters. ...Didn't compare it to PS4, CPU bottlenecking everything on both systems. ...Didn't mention I need more extra space.
It was obvious your comment was contrasting against something else, but let me be fair about this: Technically, only 3/4 of your last post was OT, meaning you're only 3/4 trolling. Sorry about that. You should try harder next time. ;D
Why replace the original drive when you can add external storage!? I don't want to have to open the unit and f**k about when I can just plug and external drive in??!?!
5 tb drive on amazon for $130, gonna get it myself. :3
That Collective Minds Xbox One Hub is worth getting too, keeps it all stylish.
Wish I could find one......
Thanks for showing me that, that is the coolest accessory I've ever seen I'll have to see if I can find one in the UK
Not on Amazon uk? Try US or Canadian site and try find a vendor that will ship overseas.
to TheCommentator: these are things that disturb me as a user..limitations, limitations, limitations..
I have a 4TB drive fitted, 33% full now. Might need another one soon :)
I have a 1tb. That should have been the standard. When my 360 launched it had 20 gigs that lasted 3 years before deleting inventory was a must. Now that I have buddies on X1 needing to delete games to make space after a year or so + ( new tb hd) as a standard is silly. Microsoft new better. They knew what the install time and space was to be as per game. 1 tb should have been the smallest to start with. Cause 1 tb isn't much. I don't game that much and they games that I do own are direct download and Mcc , destiny,Borderlands : HJC as well as some nda betas I am testing. Eat that Shi* up!
I saw this coming from a mile away when i got my xbox day one. I knew immediately that i would need some serious memory space so i went and bought a WD 3TB external drive and it was the best decision ever. With the external drive you also get faster install speeds for games because of USB 3.0. So when you get that disc at the midnight launch and you're waiting for it to install when you get home, the external drive does it way faster than the internal drive.
I have a 3TB external and is working fine for me, do agree there needs to be more storage as games are getting bigger.
