Sega’s first quarter of the current fiscal year is covered in red. The company reports dramatic decreases in sales, with operating and net income both plummeting into negative territory.
Did SEGA even have anything notable in Q1 2015
Considering their long history of poor decisions, this isn't all that surprising tbh. A shame. Sega has so much potential to be extremely succesful and profitable, yet they simply don't even try it seems.
who the F... has the management for developers deals in Sega??? has any relation with games ?? seeing the last Sonic and generally their preferences in developers you can easily tell that generally their managers want more to harm the company rather than help it gain profits...Sega go back to your homeland and pay the same money (or even less ) for games developed only by japanese....its a good start and you ill see immediately the difference
Don't worry guys, this is just a minor setback. Sega will make a major comeback with a new, totally awesome console that will knock Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo out of the park! #SegaFanForLife *cries*
If they'd just listen to what their fans want for 2 damn seconds and not throwing broken crap at us that nobody asked for repeatedly, then I can guarantee this would be totally different.
Why would they go through all of that trouble when they can just keep selling to the Sonic fanbase?
Well problem is when even that isnt selling that much anymore lol
Yet they decided to make Sonic Boom 2 while saying after how they were sorry ¬¬
They said it after Sonic Boom 2 mate.
Yeah but they still put it in development, it wasn't that long after the announcement they said it People reacted the same way about the first one and voiced their distaste in it during reviews. Why did they think a sequel would help turn things around
Sonic Boom 2 has been in development probably 2+ years. They don't start the development when they announce the game, lol.
The first one only came out in November, not much time to develop anything from there to when they announced the sequel. It's probably in the early stages so they could cancel it if they wanted and save their money for a proper Sonic game
I see you don't understand how games are developed. Sometimes the sequel is on the works before the first one is even finished.
Yeah I do I just doubt SEGA would have a sequel to a game which was being criticized way before launch. They could have cancelled it. You are making out like they had both going at the same time which was doubt after SEGA hasn't done well when it comes to money.
i very much doubt it got anything to do with that . They had this whole cross media affair and invested to much into having also a boom anime show , goodies and series of books . No way they'd leave it midway while they can hope to sucker people again into the next game . They could actually cancel it otherwise It's even a speciality of them , having people believe each time that each new sonic game will be good enough again .
Let me try and fix this in 3 steps Step 1) Port all of the Phantasy Star online games to the XBO and PS4, Step 2) ......... Step 3) Profit!!
Hell that and jus hd remasters of some of their old hits if they dont wanna try again lie darn at least try sega
They need to make quality games, it's as simple as that. Yeah they have some great games out there, it's just that they don't have the best track record. I would love to see Sega produce quality games year in and year out.
I need a proper console VC on PS4 Sega. Hell I will take a remaster of the vita games. Make it happen.
How about they make games that fans actually want to buy.
They released Streets of Rage 2 3D just days ago.
Sega is barely relevant today. I really miss the old competitive Sega. They just ride Sonic into the dirt now. I'd love to see some old school games return like Phantasy Star, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe (that 2008 one sucked), Shinobi, they have a full catalog of killer apps that need that HD touch like Capcom did with Super Street Fighter 2 HD. The Playstation Generation will never understand how important Sega was to video games.
except the generation knows or at least remotely do . Sega only lost relevance during the ps3/360 days . Before that even when in crisis and poor management they mostly had stellar titles . These days they got .. Yakuza , Total Wars , Hatsune Miku if into dance games , Phantasy star online 2 which they refuse to help get bigger , and a little array of truly niche title they dont market or even release everywhere . That and the Atlus Purchase
I agree, just being a Sega fan myself, I went out and usually bought up anything Sega published. I enjoyed Vanquish, Binary Domain, Virtua Fighter 5, etc...I bought just about every game they put out on XBLA and PSN. I was really appreciative when they released Virtua Fighter 2 because I can't find a decent version of it for MAME. Even the Saturn version pales in comparison to the Arcade version. It was a great surprise. The absence of Sega on Xbox One other than Alien Isolation is a bit concerning.
Alien iso was out of this world! Tembo was elephantastic! Long live SEGA, may they never Vanquish too.
Not surprising really, SEGA seemed to almost disappear last year.
Jeez, l wonder why...
