MR BLACKMAGIK of the DRM Gamecast lists 5 Game of The Year Contenders Still To Come in 2015.
I don't think Tomb Raider, or Until Dawn will be GOTY contenders. I think they will be great games - especially Until Dawn, but when it comes to GOTY they'll be in the 'runners-up' category. The real contenders will be the likes of - The Witcher 3, Batman Arkham Knight, MGSV and FallOut4. Honourary mention will go to Bloodbourne - but being such a niche title, it won't win GOTY.
I think bloodborne beats batman by a long shot.
Arkham knight won't even get an award because of two things. . Batmobile and 12 year old predictable as hell story. Now MGSV and The Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 will be the real contenders. The rest will be runner ups. Bloodborne will win the GOTY in the exclusive category for sure. My money is on MGSV winning.
MGSV is my favourite to win it, but I think the popularity of Fallout 4 will edge it to win. ALthough I have to say - of gajes already released the Witcher 3 is definately the strongest contender.
Rottr could be a Goty contender
Could be, but I just don't see it. Especially when you consider the games it'll be going up against. The negative controversy won't help either.
I think Rottr is right up there with the best games this fall
It could be, has a better chance than a lot of titles releasing, but I don't think there's been enough time spent on development to make it something truly special & unique from the first installment. Reviewers might see it more as a 1.5 than a proper next gen sequel, which may hold it back. On the other hand, even if it does play & look similar to the last installment, if they really blow it out w/ the gameplay and the story then it could put it right back in the running. It would most likely be my personal game of the year if it was hitting a console I owned, because I absolutely love the genre & the last game was great fun, and even if it was more of the same w/ a better presentation, that'd be enough for me to give it the crown.
My most anticipated are definitely halo 5, Tomb raider, fallout which I think will all be goty contenders (ori aswell) and you have the automatic goty for racing fans in forza 6 so it's a brilliant few months coming up with gears and rare replay coming out this month :)
Life is Strange is shaping up to be a masterpiece so it should definitely be up there and Mad Max might surprise everyone when it does
The only game for me personally that might take GOTY title still to arrive this year would be Metal Gear Solid V. And maybe, Persona 5.
MGS V will win... Hands down.. the gaming community is going to throw it hard in the face of Konami
MGSV...the game of all times.
Cool it down, Benson!. But i think by the end of the year Bloodborne,Fallout 4,MGSV and maybe witcher 3 will battle it out for GOTY.
witcher 3 is by far the best game so far but i think tomb raider might top it. Halo 5 will definitely be epic but can't see the media giving goty to an xbox exclusive.
Phantom Pain is shaping up to be Goty
I Give it to Metal Gear Solid V, then a tie for runner-up goes to Bloodborne and The Witcher 3.
In my humble opinion. The Batmobile is out of the race. Batman AK was my most anticipated game of this year, but even if we decided not to count the obvious technical issues, there are so many game design choices that felt odd and forced. For the conclusion of the series the story they picked is just average at it best, and the DLC prices are just nuts. The Witcher 3 gave me technical issues I'm not going to lie, but at least had a good story and was a satisfactory conclusion for the series. Gwent beats the Batmobile mini games any day and the constant updates and free DLC really shows that the developer wants that GOTY. Bloodborne is in the opposite side of the spectrum, the technical aspect of the game was impeccable (the frame rate dropped like in 2 sections of the game, but that's about it), there is no such a thing like a conventional tale and the closest think to a minigame was imminent death. Its neither the conclusion or the beginning of a story. But the gameplay and game design are so satisfying that its really hard not to put it against the other big hitters. I really hope the upcoming games are everything we are hoping for, but I believe that either The Witcher 3 or Bloodborne will represent 2015 properly.
Hands down Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain. Best gameplay (controls, freedom of infiltration), best story (it's MGS.. come on) best innovation: Sandbox stealth. No other game can bring more. MGSV has raised the bar for every title this year and the next.
