Final Fantasy VII Remake, Persona 5 and Media Molecule's Dreams are to release on PS4 in 2016, according to a new advert from Sony.
If true it looks like Playstation is gonna have a good year of games come 2016
Too many games scheduled to come out in 2016 though imho. Still secretly hoping for a Persona 5 release this year but wouldn't be surprised if the Western version at least is put back to 2016.
This was a EU magazine. So P5 in 2016 is probably true. 2015 for the US was still on last i heard.
^^^ I really hope that's true and they keep it region free.
heard a lot about Persona 5. I think I will be jumping in to see what its all about.
I didn't get all that from the pics i saw of the mag, it said 2015/16 release schedule meaning Persona 5 could release 2015. Persona 5 is on schedule to release in 2015 in North America. It's very likely No Man's Sky could release holiday 2015 and be playable on Morpheus as well.
I just want P5 to offer the original Japanese voices as an option.
i have no doubt but people say that every year. not sure what's going on with no mans sky, they must be wanting to delay it for morpheus.
I hope not. I hope they'll just release it once it's done, instead of having people like me with no intent of buying the Morpheus wait.
I really hope that Persona 5 date is only placeholder.
FF7 remake is never happening next year. Persona V is happening this year for both Japan and otherwise - they did confirm this at E3... No Mans Sky...is it actually going to be fun to play?
Not sure why you got disagrees. The director of VII has to wrap up work on KH3 and that might not even release next year. When they get into full development of FF7 it will be at least a 3 year process. Earliest we could see it is 2019 honestly unless they put KH3 on hold altogether.
Persona, last guardian, horizon dawn, and Uncharted are all coming out in 2016....bout time we got actually good first party games and there all coming out in the same year. You could say the same for microsoft, halo is coming out in 2015,but they have Gears,Crackdown, and Quantum Break all coming out in 2016 too....
Generations always take awhile to get into full swing. I remember 2008 blew my mind with MGS4 and LBP? but then 2009 had Uncharted 2 and some others that really made me appreciate my PS3. Only thing about last gen though was the JRPG situation was really weak. That could be changing now.
That's lame. Nowhere does it say 2016 :(
Ok my bad it's way at the top there. Still doesn't mean anything. I'm not getting my hopes up
No way I believe FF VII is coming out in 2016.
I think they mean the HD remaster. As I understand there doing a remaster of the PC version of VII and a remake which will most likely be 2017/2018.
Am I the only one thinking where is Final Fantasy XV on that magazine?
@! Blackpanther can't wait for your review on youtube NEW need for speed game .
Of course not. They haven't even STARTED working on the game yet. But I imagine I'll be laughing my ass off in 2018 when the FF7 remake comes out... and SE announces that FFXV will be coming to the PS5 instead.
Some people can't even believe FF15 and KH3 are coming 2016 (FF15 is definitely releasing in 2016 though), so there is no way FF7R is coming out in 2016.
I doubt KH3 is 2016 that'd be a miracle
To be fair to them, FF15 and KH3 were two big games that "persuaded" people to buy a PS3 last decade.
I had hoped Persona 5 would release this year, oh well. MGS5 and Fallout 4 here I come! ;)
persona 5 DQ Heroes disgaea 5 for my holiday pls haha
Fallout 4 saved 2015 from being a disappointment 2016 has persona,FF XV, last guardian, Zero Dawn, Uncharted, mass effect, mirrors edge.....gonna be a good year.
Don't forget about Metal Gear Solid V saving 2015.
Hold Your horses. Mirror's edge and zero dawn aren't going to be "great " games and being that fallout 4 is multyplat, this year is an epic fail for Sony!!
How can you say they're not gonna be great games... You played them both already. horizon Zero Dawn looked pretty good at E3, and Mirror's Edge has a lot of people excited. But far to little has been seen from these games as of now. PS4 is still the best selling console this year, and has had a fair amount of exclusives already this year.
It still could in the US, EU always get Atlus stuff last, 2016 was expected.
Wow... they are called placeholder dates...
Persona 5 should have happened 5 years ago already. FFVII won't be out before 2017 since its going to celebrate the 20th anniversary of FF7.
I think it's pretty much guaranteed now that all of the gamers who played P3 or P4 and loved 'em are now beyond high school. Wonder if that'll affect the game's reception....
I doubt it lol, played Persona 3 and 4 long after I was out of school as well
Those games go so far beyond their high school atmosphere it's ridiculous. With all the stuff that goes down, you could swear they were at least university students.
No Man Sky imma guess will drop FALL 2016!!!!! def not in 2015.
Why? They've pushed that game like crazy this year (Game Informer cover story, IGN first, stage at E3) and people who have played it say it plays like a finished game. Waiting another year would kill their hype/momentum.
They've pushed that game like crazy ever since it was announced in 2013. That doesn't mean the game is coming out sooner simply because they're advertising the hell out of it.
@Redbutterfly Not as much as they've pushed it this year, and in previous years they never let other people play it. Keep in mind Sony has said they are essentially treating this as a first party game, and they are severely lacking in exclusives this fall. Also, it's procedurally generated, so once the engine is in place, it's not like they have to finish building levels, etc, that could drag development time out.
Why would IGN being dedicating their monthly "First" series on a game releasing a year off? They've been covering 'the next big title' on that series
I think the game drops for the holidays on a random out-of-nowhere date like musicians do. That'd be a huge move for Hello Games that would bump up the profile even higher. Maybe they coincide the games release w/ Paris Games Week or possibly PSX, either way the game seems to be pretty far along and the fact that they haven't even been putting much of a concrete release window around it makes me think that it could be one of the biggest surprise releases in all of gaming.
if that is indeed all true (high doubts) then that's disgusting. Disgustingly good. What about FF15 though?
Are you really that dumb to think FF7 Remake is coming out next year!!?? It just got announced this year
I think the fact that they didn't give No Man's Sky a 2016 date means they are still hoping for a 2015 date.
I hope you're right. I also hope the same applies to Rime.
With Rime: So do I, sounds like they finished the game or are close
FF VII Remake 2016 = impossible Lets face it.
Considering you have no idea how long the game has been in development then yes, it is very possible. Don't comment on things you know nothing about.
There's definitely been interviews with Nomura where he suggested the game's development only began recently. Secondly, the "trailer" was merely a promise that they're GOING to make the game. Until the trailer, they hadn't made any promises. It's them saying "yeah we've decided we're going to try and make this game." I think SE have improved with regards to releasing games promptly, but this is the kind of project that gets delayed multiple times.
I know something, did you know that Tetsura Nomuya did not know that him was going to be the Director of the project until the very moment of the reveal. Does this tells something of the "actual status of development" for you ?
Kitase Stated the games preproduction began RIGHT after his team finished LIGHTNING RETURNS:FF13... That was in March 2013... It entered full production in November Last Year... Nomura confirmed that himself after the Bombshell trailer broke the internet! And said More details will come THIS FALL/Winter... We can speculate that JUMP FESTA 2015 in late Dec or PSX2015 will be the events where they release more info... As I've been saying the game is farther along than we believe, and with how square's production time lines are, this game will have a simultaneous worldwide release, just like FF15, and Type-O HD had... I do believe 2016 is a long shot but this is an Established game with all the scenarios done, they may very well be remaking the game from the ground up for PS4, but they have the old game to look pull and recreate from already. The Remake will launch in 2017 to coincide with the anniversary of FF7... Quote me on it
WTF! I want Persona now! not 2016!
you and me both!!!
Well, I guess you can't, because they need to include an English dub or else a big portion of western gamers will apparently throw a hissy-fit and refuse to buy the game...
2016 for EU. 2015 for US
Don't crush my feelings like that :(! Altus PR keeps confirming a 2015 release date still, let's hope that holds through!
This is for EU. Sega and Atlus had no plans for it yet so its Placeholder for that region. 2015 still in the US
How in god's name do they expect us to believe the remake will come out in 2016? Blatantly stringing us along with hype - trying to keep us interested. I can wait as long as it takes, just so long as it isn't a repeat of Versus / XV. The will be released in 2017 at the earliest, 2020 at the latest. That's my prediction.
In 2020 PS5 will have been out for 1-2 years, no way in hell that happens. Persona 5 is scheduled to release in 2015 in North America. No Man's Sky could be 2015, it was always supposed to be 2015. We will see.
XV was announced as a ps3 game in like 2006. It's now 2015 and the game still isn't out. The ps4 has been out for nearly 2 years though, abd XV is now a ps4 game. I don't think SE will make all those mistakes again, not on that scale anyway. They won't repeat XV, but they might come close, and if it's going to happen for any game they're making it's this one.
Definitely a placeholder sounds better if they say 2016 instead of 2017/2018. I'd put my life on it.
I wanted Persona 5 this year :-( I'll be shocked if FFVII is 2016
WTF persona on 2016?~!!!!
2015/6 for NMS so most probably why TBA still, hopefully this year :D
Why does Square Enix have such an insanely long development time when it comes to many of their games?
Persona 5...in 2016... D:
I really want Persona 5 this year, i doubt Square-Enix will release FF VII remake next year already. Dreams could come next year, and can't wait for it, btw.
Remake to be released 2016, thats bold SONY! I mean Square...
It says coming soon and not 2016. Where the hell did they get that from?
I just wanted to say that it is nice to know I'm not the only one who can't wait for Persona 5. I don't think I know anyone right now that even knows what Persona is. And most of my friends are "hardcore" gamers. Being a Sony fan can feel lonely sometimes.
