Dreamcast emulator crawling onto PSP

Videogaming247 write: We're all for a portable Dreamcast, but, er, not like this. Joystiq brings word of a Dreamcast emulator for Sony's power-packed portable, but kinks abound.

To put things in perspective, the emulator's author, "drkIIRaziel," recently released a video of the emulator running Shenmue at a framerate that would make paintings proud – with load times to match.

That's not to say things won't improve, but we're not hedging out bets on this thing being playable any time soon. However, if you're looking for a PSP version of headless Ryo Hazuki's hill-climbing adventure, today's your lucky day.

PoSTedUP3644d ago

i didnt know that. how come people say PSP has no games? thats an awesome reason to own one right there. i just might go out and buy one this weekend sh*t.

Skerj3644d ago

Because those people find it easier to spout off things without doing any research.

There is a lot of work to be done here, I highly doupt this thing will ever be fully playable. I mean Shenmu was running horribly.

shazam3643d ago

gaffyh3643d ago

@Shazam - That's exactly what I was thinking.

the emulator chugs and has a slow framerate,

but when its fixed and runs smooth i will buy a god of war psp immediately not questions asked

N64 emulators on the PSP still run at a slugish rate and they have been working on that for years, I doupt this will ever be an enjoyable experience.

He really pulled it off... Nice man! But I'd rather see you spend the time on NullDC. Still, incredible feat. Keep it up.
