VRFocus reports on the developer of No Man's Sky stating that it doesn't know 'what it's allowed to say' in terms of possible virtual reality (VR) support.
All but confirmed now, this might be a big selling point for morpheus
This game has looked close to completion for a long time now. I firmly believe they're saving this for a Morpheus launch title, which would definitely get me to buy one.
everything now points in that direction. at first it was supposed to be on ps4 before the pc now it will be at the same time. sony knows exactly when they want to release morpheus but may wait until a confirmed date for oculus. i just hope sony doesn't try and secure some deal to make it morpheus exclusive. you know sony wants to have some big titles to help sell it.
@moldybread I'm confused. "i just hope sony doesn't try and secure some deal to make it morpheus exclusive." We already know it's coming for pc and when did the developers ever say they were planning on making this game for any other consoles? "sony wants to have some big titles to help sell it." To help sell what exactly?
"We already know it's coming for pc and when did the developers ever say they were planning on making this game for any other consoles?" where did i say anything about other consoles? i said it was supposed to come to ps4 first then pc. "To help sell what exactly?" morpheus. it will compete against oculus, i hope they don't secure some deal to make it exclusive (timed or full) against oculus in order to help sell morpheus.
I really don't know what to say about this game anymore. My excitement level for this game is now at level infinity quadrupled. This game is now at the top of my most wanted list. I found the game itself to be mega epic but now, if this is getting morpheus support, I'll probably be playing this until my ps4 is considered a retro gaming system.
You may want to control your hype just in case, who knows what may happen.
@Rimeskeem I call it the Destiny Effect.
I hear you. I'm going to have a difficult time stepping out of a Morpheus No Man's Sky experience. My "free time" is going to be consumed completely. Only Uncharted and Horizon Zero Dawn may be able to pull me out. And Rime. And....well, let's be honest, 2016 looks incredible.
This game would be awesome in VR
Nice, I get to feel like Dark Helmet and say things like; "My Brains Are Going Into My Feet!!!"
or "So Princess Vespa, you thought you could outwit the imperious forces of Planet Spaceball. Well you were wrong. You are now our prisoner and you will be held captive until such time as all the air is transferred from your planet... to ours. She's not in there!"
"Did you see anything?!" "No Sir! I didnt see playing with your dolls again."
"We were told to comb the desert, so we're combing it." http://new4.fjcdn.com/thumb...
There's only one man who would dare give me the raspberry.
I hope I get to hear 'the bleeps, the sweeps, and the creeps' from my Dualshock 4 Speaker.
By now I would love to hear a release date or an estimate of one! Can't wait for this one! Need to know NOW! :)
VR will be great with this game. :)
Im going to put my money on VR support. Sean has that child-like wonder and he has said that as a kid he always dreamed of a virtual universe where you could do all those crazy scifi things. Its pretty much his wet dream to combine that with VR.
Am I the only one that still doesn't know if I should be excited for this game or not? I don't get into games like Minecraft where there are no clear objectives or "missions", and no clear "end". So I see all this cool stuff about discovering stuff and a huge universe and it looks awesome, but then I wonder "what am I going to actually be doing?". I just have this feeling that this game will be neat for a very short period of time and then the lack of direction will make me lose interest. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that would be a fault of the game itself, just that it isn't my cup of tea. I mean, Minecraft has a ridiculously huge following and I don't have the tiniest desire to play it. I just wonder if anyone else has the same concerns I do about this one?
This needs to be real. Morpheus looks great and the potential is awesome, but hardware wont matter if it doesnt have a killer app to make people buy it. Sony needs an immersive 1st person experience to get people to shell out for Morpheus and since there doesnt seems to be another Killzone or Resistance on the Horizon (no pun intended) No Mans Sky could fit the bill nicely. We need games for Morpheus Sony, not just cool tech and promise.
Here's hoping RIGS ends up being the next Rocket League
OT I would love to see Journey make it onto Morpheus. For me, that would be perfect.
That would be surreal.
It would be an experience of just the right length. The flying and trudging through the snow. Surreal certainly would sum it up for me.
One game that's making me consider buying Morpheus day 1 is EVE Valkyrie.
