Big games of August: Rare Replay, Gears Of War, Dishonored

MMGN writes: Don't worry: the pre-Christmas rush is almost here. July was okay, and August certainly has its charm, but let's not pretend like we're not clamouring for some really big releases.

So what's out in August? There's more than 700 hours of gameplay in Rare Replay, and it'll be interesting to see how Gears of War holds up almost a decade since its first release.

Which games are you most looking forward to in August?

The story is too old to be commented.

A bunch of remasters take up the article title, but no mention of Until Dawn? That's my most anticipated game of August along with Everybody's Gone to Rapture and Volume

a very fanboy article and title. Putting remasters over new IPs and current gen only games doesn't make sense.

Until Dawn for me this month and Batman: AK.

BozoLoco1238d ago

? Until Dawn is mentioned in the article.

Rimeskeem1238d ago

The title should include it, why did you change that?

IamTylerDurden11238d ago

Entirely agree, my most anticipated games of August are Galak-Z, Rapture, Volume, and Until Dawn.

Summer has been a pleasant surprise for PlayStation gamers, August is pretty stacked.

You're correct. I'd think Until Dawn, Dishonored: Definitive Edition and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture would be top spot for August. Certainly are for me.

Oh my god. You ps4 fanboys are mad because they mention two Xbox one games? Give me a break!

RiseofScorpio1238d ago

Until Dawn? I'm sorry but after Beyond Two Souls and The Order I'm waiting for reviews on this one.

SolidGear31237d ago

Beyond: Two Souls and The Order are two of my top favorite games. Last game I preordered was Beyond: Two Souls in fact. So if it's anything like them then it'll be a masterpiece.

Let's rephrase this. Games released after August 25th. Damn!! I've never understood why some games don't simply take advantage of July and August.

There's literally almost no competition. And then when they do release, they all release on the last week of August, right before the craziness starts, right before MGS5 launches.

The whole summer season is so barren typically its really mind boggling. It's like the gaming industry hasn't realized yet that gaming isn't solely for children, they seem to think that games are only bought w/ parent's money as gifts for the holidays. Meanwhile the film industry uses the timeframe for its most profitable season year after year. Makes no sense to me at all, I can't even think of all of the games that end up lost on me that would otherwise get major play during the summer if they released during that period.
