With games like Diablo, Borderlands, and Path of Exile, this is a surprisingly strong subgenre of games.
Fantastic look at the state of one of my favorite types of games -- especially those that let me play on my couch with my wife or a friend.
Diablo 2 pretty much ruined most ARPG's for me, because it was simply too good for its time. Now they're typically a poor man's Diablo or even worse, a Titan Quest type of game. Unfortunately (Activision) Blizzard merged Diablo with a certain other game of theirs. R.I.P Blizzard North.
Exactly how I feel after Blizz North disband & Blizz put this r3tard Wilson in the leading chair for D3 it was certain that this game is going to become a cartoonish colorful piece of shit with no depth & character customization, this moron create a casual trash for WoW kids they even gave it for free to those who buy subscription for 1 year in WoW... D3 is a Diablo game just in name it has nothing to do with the original 2 Diablo games from the original devs, if you love ARPGs that give you freedom to customize your char & to create interesting char builds then you must try Path of Exile this game have the most complex builds on any ARPG I have play & you have literally the freedom to do anything you want & Diablo fans usually like it :) it's not coincidence they call it the "spiritual successor" to Diablo 2.
Path of Exile is excellent. What build(s) do you favor?
Am I the only one that likes games like D3 and PoE but hates when there's too much "magic spam" all over the damn screen? Magic is nice but there is such thing as too much of a good thing.
