Laser Squad was an earlier version of the Rebel Star games and a prequel to the amazing X-Com games that appeared later on, all created by the same team, the Gollop Brothers.
The scenario is that you are a band of space marines (or Aliens/Robots) that had been given 5 different scenarios ranging from assinating an enemy leader (or defending him), to the destruction of a space station generator (or preventing it from being destroyed). Each character in your team would have a number of action points (APs) according to your overall attributes. Before the mission begins, you would have a number of weapons to choose from, ranging from a pistol, through to a rocket launcher."
