The latest promotion of Dragon Quest Heroes makes it seem as if the game is only a PS4 exclusive in 2015 and could be coming to other consoles, such as Xbox One, after the year is up.
I'm guessing it means: exclusive for PS4 and coming in 2015. They just didn't want the writing to be that long. If it wasn't full exclusive it would probably say: debuting on PS4 in 2015.
Yea, pretty doubtful, that this interpretation has any validity?
"Exclusive to PS4 in 2015" Hummm... this wording could mean a timed exclusive. It reminds me the wording used to promote Rise of the Tomb Raider. For full exclusives, we normally see something like "Only on Playstation".
Could just be bad wording. Or emphasising how it's not coming to PS3.
If it doesn't say Only on PlayStation then it'll probably be released on other platforms at some point.
SE previously put out marketing on the Slime Collector's Edition that has that branding. I think the author of this article is being too literal.
There's a lot of Asian market games that has this verbage. You don't see them going onto other consoles.
But it has that on its box art. Either poor wording, or it means they will eventually bring out the PS3 version.
If it's on the box art then yeah it'll be exclusive but I haven't seen it on any of the trailers.
The sequel has already been confirmed exclusively for PS3, Vita, and PS4. What would make you think SE would then go back on their word
It's been out in Japan for months with no word whatsoever about it coming to any other platforms. It probably won't release on PS3 in the west though.
I'd say a PC release later down the line is somewhat likely. Square Enix has been making a push for more of their games to appear on Steam recently. And, some of Omega Force's recent games have also made their way to Steam. For example, the One Piece Pirate Warriors series used to be exclusive to Playstation platform, but the third one will also be launching on Steam. For some reason quite a few Japanese developers and publishers have taken an interest in the PC recently. So while this could likely remain a playstation 4 exclusive, a PC release might not be so far fetched.
Yeah. Its poor wording. The west will only get the ps4 version, in 2015 is what its trying to say.
It's not even poor wording, it's one website trying to drum up news. Exclusivity was already known.
Make a petition, maybe Sony will have pity on you
Not into any Dragon Quest game other than the main jRPG series. Hoping the new Dragon Quest will be made for PS4 and get a West relase date.
I don't think this is a case of Sony having an exclusivity deal with Square-Enix, Square-Enix could probably release the game on Xbox One if they wanted, it just doesn't make sense financially for them to do it as this kind of games do not sell on Xbox
Anything is possible. Doesn't matter, whichever system has Dragon Quest I play.
doesnt that if they want to release the english version to another consoles, they had to release the original japanese version first?
I doubt it will ever come to Xbox, Dragon Quest is a huge Japanese franchise. The game is so big they have to be careful when they release it in Japan because the majority will skip work to get the game. Xbox is more about western titles than Playstation is.
Yup I think this would be exclusive to PS4. might see a PS3 release. And this would be localised soon. As for Xbox, sorry but you can dream right??
people sure are thirsty
That's like: "Exclusive to PS4, released in 2015!" So still exclusive and from the SE site the explanation: "DRAGON QUEST HEROES: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below is a full-scale action RPG that will be available on October 13 for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system." Nothing else mentioned.
It is pretty vague and open to interpretation. Not sure it really matters coming to other platforms. It's not a Sony 1st Party title, so it's open season. Not necessarily in reference to Dragon Quest Heroes, but I do dislike the concept of 'Timed Exclusivity'. Disrespectful to those who may have supported the franchise previously, and now are expected to wait...
