Tekken 7 Arcade is going to be made available in North America soon, with a location test starting this month in select locations
This is the 'important' announcement that was due today? I expected a console release date. Disappointing.
Worse, they announced an $80,000 tournament, that was their big announcement. So basically, we're supposed to get excited for a tournament of a game the over whelming majority of us can't even play.
Please understand. Lol no I agree with you, gentlemen. Though if you look at it like they had a tournament they needed to promote it doesn't seem so gross. But a lot of us I'm sure were hoping for a game/platform/release announcement.
they could have just passing it as an usual announcement instead of "THE big one" . Especially with EVo around the corner and people aware of it already n As is it , it's nothing newcomers care about ... nor something most tekken amateurs can care much about .
Basically they are in a frenzy , with the hype slowly going out for a game in beta for so long , with few having access to it . They seems to be reacting to various game making a big splash appearances and making T7 forgotten in the news , like SF5 ... And well , while us tekken fans would be giving up , they should indeed react , and in a stronger and more efficient manner than this .
This is made worse by the fact they are going the esportsy route yet I'd argue Tekken 7 is a perfect example of how not to grow a competitive scene by playing regional favourites while alienating the rest of the world.
by the time they release the game , they'll be nothing new to learn about the characters released so far , and the gameplay . Unless of course they drastically alter it compared to the current arcade versions . problem is once the shiny novelty effect is gone , people drop the game even faster and others figure out the meta game faster too .
hope it comes to Otakon this month
