The U.S. release date, as well as other images, have been listed for the upcoming PS4/PS3 Logitech G29 Driving Force Race Wheel.
Why the hell is the price $400 with no gearbox but has a clutch that cost more than the G27 it's self which has all of it for cheaper? Jeeze. I love Logitech but this product is priced ridiculously.
There maybe no gearbox because if based of example F1 the gears are handled threw the wheels even the lights at the top same as a F1.
Although i do like it, my only issue is the price! way too much. Should be lower due to it not having a stick shifter. I'll just wait until they ever update the PS4 to use the G27 wheel or wait till they slash the price in half to get the G29.
Dude I have the same hope that I'll be able to use my old wheel. I did see that someone is using theirs with something like a Titan controller usb thingy but I can't find out which one it was, as if its not too expensive that might be the way forward.
I have the CronusMax dongle for the G27 to work on PS4, however there are a few downsides to this. 1) No FFB, which is quite important in a racing game. 2) There are currently two methods to connect the G27 to the PS4, one is to have a the wheel plugged into a PC(and a DS4 conected to the PS4 via the dongle) a USB cable running from PC to the Dongle plugged into the PS4, the other method plugs the G27 directly into the PS4(via dongle), however every 10 mins the connection is dropped(as the PS4 runs a security check) for a second as the dongle reconnects, which is no good for racing games. All the dongle does is make the PS4 think that another DS4 is plugged into the PC and all commands are coming from it. I gave up in the end as it takes ages to set up and the initial set up is a major pain in the buttocks.
That really sucks Sniper. I would love to use my wheel on PS4. This rubbish about security chips and whatnot must be a lie. If theres a driver for using old fighting sticks on the PS4 (that divekick, MKX and SF4 use) A devloper could surely do the same for racing wheels?
Releasing two sets of steering wheels peripherals ( XBox ONE=G920 and PS4=G29 ) says so much about the wrong/greedy marketing strategies that is happening in the world of hardware/software compatibility issues in gaming.
After seeing the way they dropped support for G25/G27 I'm not buying anything else from Logitech...especially such expensive gadgets.
