All DLC should be free for the PC version.

I just read the article. More importantly then the DLC being announced, was the annonymous QA tester stating that WB KNEW the game was in such a broken state.

I...can't believe it. The fact that the buggy, glitchy code remained unchanged for an entire year. My question is, What the hell were Iron Galaxy doing? Sure, we can blame it on Wb's ignorance, but IG was entrusted to do a satisfactory job.

I don't know who I hate more right now, WB for releasing it as is, or Iron Galaxy for doing such a terrible job.

I'd probably go for WB releasing it even though it was bugge to hell. They knew it wasn't finished, yet they still released it so they could make a few bucks.

"More importantly then the DLC being announced, was the annonymous (...)" random user pretending to be a tester.

@ Palitera

Interesting...But I ask you this: What is harder to believe? That the game was shipped out in a broken state and WB, in keeping with the image of their company, and vying for damage control for fear that people won't be buying their season passes or future titles, so they act oblivious when in reality, they knew actually knew what was going on? or acting like they are genuinely shocked and appalled by the laundry list of issues concerning this particular platform for the game?

I'm all for the former, because, you know, they have the final say over the actual release of the game. Either way, they look like idiots, having to choose between "Money-Hungry Inc." and "blissful airheads who have no idea how to ensure that that a game they are releasing is a truly polished, playable product on ALL platforms".

The blame lies with WB, and not Iron Galaxy. There are to many variables, you don't know. How long they had the game to work out all the PC specific stuff, you don't know what PC support entails; does it mean they were porting the whole thing or only providing support to Rocksteady? The hate should always lie with the money people who knew all to well the PC version shouldn't be shipped, granted there is so much marketing money being pushed behind the June 23rd date (Nvidia). Who knows if that decision could be left entirely to WB.

Shame WB for not providing the adequate budget/time to the PC version and maybe Nvidia for pushing all those videos without keeping a closer eye on the progress of the PC version. People in suits knew the game was on fire, and people in suits push the big red button that make the game live.

i dont understand why Rocksteady gets ZERO BLAME

do you blame the GM, Players and Coach, or do you blame the Owner in sports?

I already knew something was wrong when I saw this article like 4 days before release

Ummmm NO.....PC people got refunds for the broken game that wanted them, in no universe does anyone on PC deserve the DLC for free when you were given your money back

kevinsheeks1023d ago

What about those who didn't purchase from steam? Also what about users who fiddled with settings and just got into game like me? I spent 1.4 hours just trying to get it to work only to get to the bat-mobile portion and it crashed.

I hadn't even realized I almost went over 2 hours playing what only felt like 30 minutes of actual game.

Erik73571023d ago (Edited 1023d ago )

Lol Warner Bros never offered them, so many people got a refund through steam and it was so bad valve probably pressured them into removing the game from steam.....Warner Bros hasn't offered or givin sh*t for steam users...thank valves new refund policy not them.

They feel entitled, because all that money they spend on "options" and the graphics distance is never far superior. Superior yes but barely plus every game that comes out on pc is always broken, they acting like that's something new. It's always been about the console master race devs prove it all the time, but yea pc masterglicth race is more like it lolz. Watch when fo4 drops.. this too funny to me

I'd rather them fix it first before even thinking about DLC, since this is out on July 14th does that mean a performance patch will be out by then for PC? I really hope so!

Ghoul1023d ago

well last year they said this to origin wich is an outrage

"Hi all,

The team is currently working hard on the upcoming story DLC and there currently are no plans for releasing another patch to address the issues that have been reported on the forums.

If we do move forward with creating a new patch, it will try to address the progression blocking bugs for players, not the minor glitches that do not prevent one from continuing to play. The issues that are not progression blockers will unfortunately no longer be addressed.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused for some of you, and want to thank you for having been patient."

Adexus1023d ago

That's true but Origins was nowhere near as broken as Knight is, I only encountered one glitch throughout that game, I was probably just lucky though.

jb2271023d ago

That was WB Montreal whereas this title is Rocksteady. There is a possibility that WB forced WB Montreal to abandon bug fixes, in which case they could likely force Rocskteady to do the same so it's definitely still a concern. Hopefully WB will give the Rocksteady the chance to right the wrong that WB themselves set up, but its up in the air I guess. I personally played the game on PS4 & aside from 2 instances of falling through the world, it was pretty flawless for me. I think ultimately devs are the ones that get blamed for these practices when in most cases their parent companies & publishers are the actual ones who deserve the blame, forcing them to hit unrealistic deadlines & dictating what they can & cannot do w/ their title. Really makes me wish more companies would give devs the freedom that Sony seems to give to Naughty Dog. Because they allow them that freedom, they put out flawless release after flawless release. I'm sure Sony would've killed to have UC4 out this Holiday, and I'm sure that they could've forced ND into making that happen, but they realized & respected the talent they held by allowing them the chance to craft an airtight game first and foremost while saving the worry about delays & dry spells for another time. Hopefully WB will take a page from their book because Rocksteady are masterclass developers, but all it takes is a shady parent company to wholly dismantle all of the work put in to make these studios pale imitations of what they once were.

5.79. That's pretty cheap for dlc. I assume because the expansion pass is 40.00 there's going to be plenty of dlc like this seeings as it's less than 10.00.

Meltic1023d ago (Edited 1023d ago )

fix the pc version first Before even Think of releasing a DLC

LegoIsAwesome1023d ago

It runs perfectly on the PS4. So maybe they think they have the rights to release a DLC this early.

_-EDMIX-_1023d ago

? "think"? Bud the DLC was already being worked on by another team, the team doing the DLC likely has nothing to do with the actual PC version, in fact Rocksteady has nothing to do with the PC version.

Your asking for a company to do one thing vs another when the reality is they can and have been doing both.

Not doing DLC doesn't get the PC version fixed faster as the folks doing the DLC, are not in charge of the PC version.

TheJacksonRGN1023d ago

People commenting about fixing the PC version first. Do you guys not realize they have different people for that? The guys who made Origins worked on the Batgirl DLC. Rocksteady has people from their team handling the PC fixes.

Baka-akaB1022d ago

sure but it still leaves a bad taste . One version of the game isnt even finished , and there are still some bugs on consoles , and here they are rolling out the dlcs still .

Of course one could argue that the people that got the passes would be pissed if the content was held back , but they'd get content either way over 6 month to a year . (and quite frankly it's a bad deal)
