Kotaku-Nintendo seem to think that air drumming is a good idea. After all, it was the highlight of their Wii Music presentation last week. Harmonix, though, Harmonix beg to differ. And we like to think Harmonix know a thing or two about music games.
People that play these music games just need to learn real instruments.
And people like you should just shut up and stop complaining. You're probably just upset because GH or RB raped you 'cause you suck.
that was his own opinion. i always say wait thill you play it then judge it, but, air drumming just looks stupid. where is the skill? Somwhere in between watching paint dry and blinking. (there is no need for such language)
Thats really daft attitude dude - they are games and its fun. Its like saying that people who enjoy playing FPS games should join the army.
dude seriously STFU people don't want to waste a crapload of money on real instruments and like a year to perfect a song. ITS JUST FOR FUN.
Yeah folks, why in the world do you guys want to play Killzone 2 when you can just go invade a planet in real life. /sarcasm
" but, air drumming just looks stupid. where is the skill?" its not like you are just hitting in a random direction, you actually have to reach for the cymbals for example. You really perfom the beat with the balance board. The Drum thing is lots more(hella more) realistic than the other 60 instruments. From what i have seen it could actually learn you rythm. And seriously read the article, the only thing they are saying is that there is no " feedback " that makes the experience better.
are you the kind of guy who needs to get a real car to play an arcade racer ? no ? then please STFU ...
it's people like BigBaehr that have youtube videos of themselves rocking out to DragonForce because they think they are the Hardcore gamer that Nintendo will never be able to make a game for. They are much too good for an instrument better settling for the best possible replacement, but when the recorder was too hard for them they decided that GH was the best commonplace they would reach in real life. btw WiiMusic looks like it could outdo MSG 4 so stop saying it'll suck!!!!--- obviously that was a joke so I hope no one starts kicking my @s$ for that comment
Actually I suck balls at guitar and dont own GH, but I kick ass on drums in RB, and I think filming myself play is pretty lame like yourself, and you probably do think it will be better then MGS 4(not MSG) you noob.
Harmonix have hit the nail on the head for me and its something I understood from the moment I watched the demo. The whole experience of drumming is the tactile feedback of actually hitting a surface and feeling the sticks or your hands bounce back as a result of the impact. Its the very definition of drumming to strike something. Could you imagine Donkey conga without the Bongo's? Or Rock Band drumming without pads? Air drumming is simply waving your hands around and is not a simulation for drumming at all.
more effort you put into something more rewarding it gets. if I just move my arms up and down and I make music, well, I can just listen a CD and wave my arms arround and pretend Im drumming. But like I said, lets first try the game.
Air drums is pretty lame, but the air saxophone that one guy was rockin' at E3 was way worse.
People complain non-stop about Nintendo's pointless peripherals, but when they plan to release a game without peripherals (to make it probably $100 cheaper), everyone complains about THAT! If you don't like the game, don't buy it. Personally, I think Wii Music is for a younger crowd, so I won't be buying it. But I'm not going to hypocritically criticize a game meant for casual and young gamers.
I understand you, but sincerly a music game whitout the peripehricals would be a little disapoitment, even for younger gamers or casuals don't you think? But you're right, only after experience it or seeing how it will work we can criticize it!
I agree, it's almost definitely not going to be as good as Guitar Hero or Rock Band. What really bothers me is that the same people in this thread who are dissing Nintendo and the game would be making equally jerky comments if the game came with peripherals! I don't even understand why they care - I bet none of them own a Wii!
WiiMusic sucks. But yeah my niece and nephew might get a kick out of it.
that picture always make me LOL so hard, this is mad funny though http://nintendoe32008.ytmnd...
Games that play themselves! No skill, or interaction needed. Way To Innovate Nintendo! This is a tech demo, not a game.
The drum thing is actually the most realistic thing compared to the 60 instruments. But the guy is right it does not give you feedback. HOWEVER if you cant drum or dont have rythm...this could actually be helping out.
I agree. Wii Music looks lame.
