In a recent interview with Animal Crossing director Aya Kyogoku, the director discussed the introduction of amiibo to Animal Crossing, and teased a full Animal Crossing title in the future.
I am happy with happy home designer :)
Nintendo just need to shut up for a couple of months. Everything they've said until now only angers their fans.
LOL, or they can shut up till the NX comes out. Seriously, this company has serious issues. But they will be bailed out by mobile and other shit they have been doing to make money amiibo ect.....
Or they can listen to hardcore gamers like me that spend $160 or more a month on games.
Turning Animal Crossing into Mario Party and shoving amiibos all over it? This was the most disappointing thing shown by Nintendo. How about put the amiibo's down for 5 minutes and just focus on making a good Animal Crossing game? They put amiibo sales as a priority with this one and the game looks to have suffered because of it. I'm a big fan of this franchise and I don't even want to go near it. What a waste
Agreed. I had very high hopes Nintendo was announce a real Animal Crossing game for Wii U at E3, and instead we got this crap. Hell, I would have been happy with a new 3DS game, as long as it wasn't this spin off garbage.
Amiibos started off ok with Smash bros, but now they're WORSE than DLC. In Splatoon i wanted to get those extra arcade games, and to get EACH one you need to get an amiibo. Thats 35 bucks for a couple minigames
Isn't that the thing with all these gaming features DLC Microtrascations Ammibos They all start out so small and when people complain no one bats an eye lid...hell people end up defending them like how people defended the shit out of Ammibos. Then in the future...BAM it hits us and it's too late Yet now look at what's happened. Imagine if each DLC pack, even skins or whatever were roughly £12 EACH
Nintendo has been really money hungry lately. These Amiibo's are all about making a profit, they even created artificial demand by not making enough to go around. They're also casting hardcore fans aside on franchises they love, by making freaking spin off titles like this and Metroid. Not to mention how sad I was to see the new StarFox look like it was made 10 years ago. It's sad to see them going down this route, as I have so many fond memories of the N64 and Gamecube era...
This new starfox looked terrible really. Even Luigi's Mansion which is a launch title for Gamecube looked better. I'm pissed that this is the best they come up with Animal Crossing it just another game to sell amiibo actually right now Nintendo is all about 3DS and Amiibo Wii U they simply gave up on it. Nintendo just literally stuck in 1950s selling cards and toys now,the stuff they did best since 19th century! If that's not an indication of how out of touch Nintendo is with fans and gaming industry then I don't know what is!
Yeah, I just wanted the Amiibos. Game should be free.
That's why I always pick you over Charmander and Bulbasaur!
Nope, I disagree. As an Animal Crossing fan, what I want is anything but Animal Crossing, lets say, an Amiibo game, party type maybe? Yes..that is exactly what I want. Soooo why on earth is Nintendo some how surprised that a fanbase of a game, don't like its new entry.......that is a whole different genre? I mean you got to be kidding me, they are just in another realm of lost. Some folks legit at Nintendo need to be fired. They don't know what they are doing... What game publisher do you know, of a damn IP which had a game do 33 MILLION UNITS! ....turns it into some home making game, then into a party game, yet expects wild sales and excitement? Can they really be this slow? Leave it alone, add on to it....make money. They would turn Call Of Duty into a racing sim, they would make Assassins Creed into a party game lol, at this point..I'm convinced they are allergic to making games people want!
Nintendo needs a restructure. They're so out of touch.
If they thought this was what the fans wanted, it shows just how out of touch they are. Give us a REAL AC game Ninty.
I'm more disappointed in the fact Happy Home Designer has customization options which not even New Leaf had...and you were the bloody mayor Decorating the outside of your house, selecting where to build houses and having a better way to style your own room should have been in past games. They are such little features.
Agreed. This should have been offered as a dlc feature for new leaf at least. Asking fans to buy a new 3ds for this is practically stabbing fans in the back. New Leaf could use some extra content for those of us that have stopped playing it.
Oh God !
well they also thought Metroid Prime Blast Ball was something people wanted..
You thought wrong. I'm not interested whatsoever in the attempted forcing (down our throats) of amiibos. I'm interested in a proper Metroid (without the Prime subtitle, move on and revisit Prime another time.) Or how about a spiritual successor to Perfect Dark? How about Eternal Darkness 2? Rogue Squadron 4??? Not to offend you collectors out there but I'm not interested in happy meal toys.
The game is a free to download title, for those not informed, and they said that there will be other modes other than the board game one. I like the amiibo, I have 10 of them (including a silver Mario) but I hope not every game will be amiibo compatible. Oh and in regards, no this isn't a game I personally wanted, I personally want some golden sun, 2d and 3d metroid, 3d Mario (like 64 and sunshine) f-zero, pikmin, luigis mansion, etc, etc. I'm sure we'll get some of them eventually.
Nintendo should bring in Kojima.. Silent Hills for NX!!
Everyone knows this game was just made to promote Animal Crossing amiibo.
maybe a massive multi town multiplayer style animal crossing game would be nice. but instesd we get the worlds most useless expensive board game....amiibo is the worst thing to ever happen to nintendo, sure money is in the bank again but now they seem to put way to much focus on bunch of mostly useless toys
And yet they said they always listen to us , listen my ass .
Nintendo is a company which does not know the current games industry and now no longer know their own fans
and obviousyl aren't spending that money on say more staff for zelda or hiring for and creating more studios or making any AAA games people actually ask for but what we def need is even more amiibo f: ck games.....i want more dust collecting toys....my wii u is gonna join them soon as dust collecter or a stand for the amiibo...wont need it for much else
You thought wrong, Nintendo. You. Thought. Wrong. Fast Racing Neo, Devil's Third, and Fatal Frame should have been in your direct. Not this and Fed Force.
Yup I gotta agree, those three would've made their digital event much better
Nintendo: “We Thought Fans Would be Happy” With Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival. LMFAO!
Don't know if this was a insult to the fanbase or what lol
We're people happy with the last Mario Party?
Everything Nintendo had been saying lately sounds like nothing more than damage control.
They wouldn't do it if it didn't make them money. I bet there's many people working for Nintendo that have no control over these sell-out decisions and are just as bitter as we are.
And.... this is why Nintendo is in last place.. So glad I didn't buy a WiiU
I think most people who have one feel like it already has enough games to make their purchase worthwhile though. Before Bloodborne and Witcher 3 came out on my PS4 this year, I felt like my Wii U had much better games on it. Mario Kart 8 was friggin enchanting.
It's games like Happy Home Designer and Amiibo festival that makes me question whether Nintendo's still got it anymore. The former takes away the good part of Animal Crossing, which is the living, breathing world following along with the events of real time. Those things are not "chores" as Bill Trinen ignorantly called it, those are the FUN parts, that make you motivated to upgrade. Amiibo Festival takes out everything that I find interesting about the games, and outside of the characters it pretty much has nothing in common with a proper Animal Crossing game. So I fail to understand how Nintendo thought Animal Crossing fans would be "happy" to see these games.
