The Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition Sold Me On CE's

Richard Drummond of gaming Tech United writes:

"I'll be the first to admit that I don't like the whole craze of Collector's Editions. They never peak my interest and they always seem to lack of quality that is shown at their initial reveal and the items themselves are pretty useless. Then during E3 that all changed for me as Todd Howard walked out on stage during Bethesda's E3 Presentation an announced the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition."

Same here. Hoping I can get one eventually. I did't hop on the preorder train fast enough. It's a hell of a price though!

More are popping up now, keep checking Amazon and best buy each day

I'll keep an eye out for them. Thanks guys! Fingers crossed I find one so that I don't have to pay a stupid second hand scalper price. Haha.

Yeah I was just going to advise this! Wanted to say it sooner, but n4g was down for me. :(

I'm twenty-six and it is the first Collector's anything I've ever bought. I regretted not getting anything cool for Fallout 3(at the time I had no idea if I would like it), and made sure I jumped on the Pip-Boy right after the conference.

Same here man. This is the first Tike I've preordered something as it was first announced. Haha. I cannot wait for it though!

This was a must buy for me, Todd Howard really sold me on it when he said "Usually i find 2nd screen experiences, they are usually just stupid gimmicks... But like as far as stupid gimmicks go, this is the best fucking one I've ever seen."

kneon819d ago

The second screen isn't a gimmick but the pip-boy is. I'd rather run the app on a tablet than on a tiny phone screen. The pip-Boy is very cool, but impractical to actually use.

@Ocean

Oh I completely agree man. Todd killed it and I know it was his job to convince us to like the app, but I think it'll be pretty fun to have the pup boy on while I play F4!

The iphone game is doing very well for them, lets just hope it doesn't do so well that they move entirely over to mobile games and stop giving us Fallout and Elder Scrolls on consoles and PC.

Not sure if it's true but I just read today fallout shelter is getting 70 million plays a day. I don't know how that is tallied, people playing, individual log on's, etc.

Still an impressive number regardless.

@perjoss

I doubt we have to worry about that. I know they're probably making some sort of money from the app but I think they'll make a shit ton of money when fallout 4 drops.
