Microsoft won E3 2015 according to Amazon pre-orders

Online retailer Amazon.co.uk has revealed the biggest winners from E3 2015 in the form of pre-order data. Forza Motorsport 6 was the existing game that received the biggest boost in pre-orders, while Rare Replay was the most pre-ordered game announced during the show.

Wait....is this satire? Did I read that heading right? Is this guy using pre-orders to determine a winner of E3? Has the world gone COMPLETELY insane? How the hell does that even make sense?

Screw pre-orders! Just went to get Batman, no pre-order required... Such a bad habit!

kneon907d ago

I got all my pre-orders at 30% off. And I still have outstanding pre-orders from 2 years ago that are now at a 50% discount due to the increase in game prices since I ordered.

Oner907d ago (Edited 907d ago )

Same here, I pre-order from BestBuy and get 20% off plus a $10 reward credit on top of 2x rewards points and other misc bonuses. I always pre-order now but only put $5 down as a deposit and pay off in full when I pick it up (just in case there are issues with how the game runs as it gets closer to release).

I dunno, how does it makes sense for someone to say that Sony won E3 if the games they announced didn't appeal to you?

It's just an opinion. This writer is using preorders as their metric for determining the most success. It's not the word of god or anything.

Don't get so angry because there is an article with the words "Microsoft" and "Won" in the same sentence without mentioning Sony. ;)

OrangePowerz907d ago

Wouldn't it be better that when Amazon charts are used in that context to use the console sales charts instead of game pre-orders? I would think It's more important who can boost console sales more after the E3 then who can boost game pre-orders more.

TFJWM907d ago

Regardless of who "won" his whole premise is flawed. We don't know the actually number of preorders just % jump. A game with a lower % jump could easily have more preorders before and after e3.

Forza jumped 1000% while U4 only jumped 500; does that mean Forza is selling better or even more then U4?

Pogmathoin907d ago

Yes your satire is fantastic.... especially when all you read here is PS4 bundle this top 10, PS4 bundle that top 10..... all on Amazon....

Good question Johndoe,

Why didn't you ask guys like this guy here when this article came out:

PS4 Pre-Orders Dominate Amazon Top 20

"xHeavYx  +&am p;am p;#1 60;  741d ago | Well said

I wonder how many of the people who ordered the Xbone changed their mind after the Sony E3 conference.
Surprised to see FIFA on that list for the PS4, after all the deals between MS and EA

#1.1(Edited 741d ago ) | Agree(80) | D isagree(3)"

Now, MS has some hot games at the top of Amazon after E3, and all of the sudden the tone changes to but..but..Pre order don't determine anything. Same as BC means nothing now since XB1 now has it and PS4 don't. LoL

freshslicepizza907d ago

there you have it, the same people with the same attitude then as now no matter what has happened in-between. what does that tell you? it tells me people chose their side and stayed there and no matter what e3 does they will likely never say the opposing side won.

so in the end what does it matter who won e3 aside from bragging rights to something they don't get royalties on?

all this article is doing is somehow suggesting there was a boost in pre-orders after e3 meaning what microsoft showed gained interest and i guess that is what e3 is supposed to do. get you interested but i will say it again, for whatever reason whatever microsoft does at e3 will not persuade certain individuals so why do they even bother talking about them? same goes for sony and nintendo.

Ya'll taking this whole "who won" thing too seriously lol

SonofGod907d ago

Try saying that in a an article about Sony winning E3. You would have been bombarded with disagrees.

Magicite907d ago

Although Im more of Sony fan, I still believe that Xbox will put up a big fight this fall.

UnHoly_One907d ago

You're right, nobody on the PS4 side would ever use pre-orders or sales figures to say that the PS4 was better.

Or whoever won E3 is all opinion & not fact. You Sony fans know what an opinion is right ?

Hopefully all fans know what an opinion is..........

LexHazard79906d ago

Funny you say that because you seem to think your opinions matter above all others.

SteamPowered907d ago

Why does everything equate with 'winning' something. I never knew E3 was a contest. I didnt even see a ballot box.

vikingland1907d ago

You can't tell by pre orders. The winner is opinion anyways. Good to see a boost though.
