'No Plans To Announce' 1 TB PlayStation 4 In North America

GI:
Sony has responded to our inquiry about a 1 TB PlayStation 4 model for North America. "We have no plans to announce at this time," a representative told us via email. While this doesn't shut the door completely, it does rule out an announcement today.

SMH this makes No sense to me at all! Sometimes Sony baffles me

traumadisaster825d ago (Edited 825d ago )

eff um, then don't take my frigin money, it will be waiting with a ps4 on it for goodness sake.

btw why is 1tb called the "ultimate?" Seems minimal considering what could be added.

guess I'll wait on the Morpheus bundle and then buy old games for 15-$20. thanks

Army_of_Darkness825d ago (Edited 825d ago )

They are obviously only saying that so consumers will continue buying the 500gb version, otherwise many will wait for the 1TB model, thus losing sales...
Sony will announce it once the holidays get near and most of the store shelf's are low on 500gb SKU.

It's because they're going to announce a 2TB version soon for NA ;-) jk...or am I?... Idk.

@Army_of_Darkness:

If Sony says they have no plans they are legally obligated to have no plans. It is better for them to say what MS likes to say "We don't have anything to announce at this time".

Otherwise they can get in sever legal problems being a publicly traded company.

It is a good chance Sony will not have 1TB for the holidays in the North America. Odd, but I guess there is more profits to take in Europe as the prices there are significantly higher and Sony is in a better position there than in the US.

@donthate

"No plans to announce" is different from "no plans to manufacture".

It obvious coming to the US... as the details came from an FCC leak. So obviously its coming.

iTechHeads825d ago

What's so hard to understand about "nothing to announce at this time"?
It's obvious it will release eventually they just don't want to announce it right now.

Lol We get top keep the sexy models in the US. Just go to the store and buy a new HDD its not that hard.

ault01825d ago

Only reason I can foresee this being the case is cost and distribution of new models

Or they are overstocked in the older models and don't have the inventory in for mass production.

Just my 2 cents. Could be wrong

* They don't want people to wait to buy a PS4 until Christmas so they say this, so people go and buy one now, and they release a 1TB in 2016.

* At least now I know it's not coming for a bit, I can go buy one.

Xbox is the best box. Who am I kidding after that e3 , I can't even fanboy for Microsoft... :(

Just a xboner passing through.

WizzroSupreme825d ago (Edited 825d ago )

That's a shame. Guess they're not worried about NA sales nearly as much as holding the line in Europe.

Pretty sure the FCC only deals with the US market...

DrRobotnik825d ago (Edited 825d ago )

Well, seeing as they made it so easy to upgrade the hard drive yourself. I.e.(slide off top, remove 1 screw, pull out old, put in new, replace screw, secure top, enjoy). Really people? Making mountains out of mole hills here. Just lazy people wanting to cry because your system doesn't bake you cookies and make hot chocolate as well.SMH.

This is what I was thinking as well.
