Why wasn't Persona 5 at E3?

It's been a good E3 for fans of Japanese RPGs But one fan-favorite title in the genre was curiously absent from the show floor: Persona 5.

Because Sony will be on TGS as well?

Relientk771276d ago (Edited 1276d ago )

Can't wait to see all the JRPGs at TGS

Edit: Yeah I hope to see Ni no Kuni 2/Dark Cloud 3

Germany71276d ago

Let's hope for an announcement of the new Level-5 game too.

never4get1276d ago (Edited 1276d ago )

PlayStation got exclusive Persona 5!
E3 2015... ... ...
Greatness Awaits! So let's wait! :D

DarXyde1276d ago

I'm partial to Dark Cloud 3, but yeah, I eagerly await Level-5 announcements.

I think TGS is going to be amazing this year, at least for PlayStation. I don't mind them skipping Gamescom since most of the games I play are Japanese titles.

Relientk771276d ago

I can do it too

Hey Polygon why weren't Quantum Break, Scalebound, and Crackdown at E3?

Oh you don't wanna talk about that one? Ok

KionicWarlord2221276d ago (Edited 1276d ago )

There not at E3 because there gonna be at Gamescom. Phil spencer said this before E3. It was about a week before.

"Over the next few weeks and months, we’ll be sharing many more of our plans for 2015 and beyond. Having a jam-packed lineup of games to show at E3 means that there simply isn’t enough time to give each of our upcoming titles its well-deserved time in the spotlight. We’ve decided to save some of our most eagerly-awaited future titles for gamescom in August. Rest assured that titles like Crackdown, Quantum Break and Scalebound will be front and center at gamescom along with new game reveals for both Xbox One and Windows 10."

As for Persona V we dont even know when this games coming. We got some little trailer with people dancing with no new gameplay information.

I doubt persona V will be at gamescom considering sony has no conference there.

If there at tgs but then they gotta market it next to bigger titles that already had game trailers and gameplay from e3 and gamescom.

Holiday 2015 release window. Wait, whats that? Scalebound and qb don't have release windows yet? Awww

KionicWarlord2221276d ago

I was explaining that its weird that persona 5 had a trailer at e3 which showed nothing new and no new announcements to see the game at another event by sony or atlus.

I wasn't comparing The lineup of Xbox titles at Gamescom to persona 5 but explaining why they were not at E3.

Obviously those games at gamescom are not coming in 2015.

GameBoyColor1276d ago

@Kionic lol my bad then. They have a new trailer for p5 but cant show it since it's an incentive to for p4 dancing. The trailer they showed was just to back up the fact that it will release simultaneously in japan and North America this year.

This is common knowledge so im wondering what Polygon is trying to suggest?

Eonjay1276d ago

It was confirmed yesterday for a NA 2015 release:

Hoffmann1276d ago

They suggest that you click the article so the headline worked and they got clicks from you :-P

xwilldemise1276d ago (Edited 1276d ago )

Isn't Tokyo Game Show in September though? ._.
If the games really due out in 2015 like Atlus keeps suggesting over & over let's assume a October/November release date. Will they really announce the release date just 2 months before the actual release. Persona's not one of those games that needs mass marketing because the true fans will buy it anyways. Thought it'd get at least a little marketing after Persona 4: Golden which is the game that I feel placed it on the map & diverged it away from being "niche". Hell, no other Persona has surpassed a million in sales(I could be wrong) but I feel this will be the first Persona to reach over 1 million with the PS4's huge & growing install base.

There were alot of games we know are coming, several coming this year, some in 2016, that weren't at Sony's show...among them the likes of Rime, The Tomorrow Children, Nathan Drake Collection, God of War Remaster, Wild, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Hellblade, Alienation, etc. etc. Of those, I was surprised not to see Wild and Rime showcased, even though they are 2016, though they could be at Paris show. And I was definitely surprised not to see Gran Turismo.

I'm more interested to see if we'll see what Sony's other first parties are working on at other games shows this year...Santa Monica - God of War? Polyphony - Gran Turismo. Quantic Dream???

Germany71275d ago

I really hope to see games like Wild on the conference in Paris and we are going to see games like the new God of War, Gran Turismo and Quantic Dream's new game on the next E3, probably.

Not like JRPGs, FF7 aside, are all that popular. At least to the COD crowd.

Kenshin_BATT0USAI1276d ago (Edited 1276d ago )

It was on the show floor...

In fact you can see it in a lot of E3 videos.

Sokol1276d ago

It will be at Tokyo Game Show, where Japanese market will take interest in it. :)

SoundGamer1276d ago

It was on the show floor. There just wasn't a playable demo on the show floor.
