Given the explosive release of GTA IV, it may be hard to believe that videogames still belong to a niche market. Sure, it may be a very big and profitable niche, but in stark contrast to other mediums, videogame buyers are still almost exclusively young males, which automatically places a barrier to mainstream acceptance. Can you imagine a world where film studios didn't care about their female audience? Or a world in which nearly all books are written by men?
