In an interview with GameSpot, Armature Studio producer Keiji Inafune revealed that Xbox One exclusive ReCore has been in development for 14 months.
I really need to see more of this game.
I think everyone at this point does.
I was surpised to see such a game at MS's conference. Keinji Inafune said Recore has a little bit of Monster Hunter, Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Zelda ,Metroid etc Really hyped for it.. http://venturebeat.com/2015...
Amature help create Metroid prime is that good thing or a bad thing?
Good i guess. Metroid Prime is a pretty cool ip.
What do you mean is that a good or bad thing? It's Metroid Prime.
The Metroid prime trilogy was insane back in the day.
Yep it's difficult to get much of an impression of any game from only a cgi trailer. All I got out of it was that it's a bit futuristic, aimed at the younger crowd, and has a robotic dog. Beyond that, it could be amazing or garbage. When a game shows only cgi, I pretty much ignore it. If a dev isn't proud enough of the game to show gameplay then there are too many questions of why to get very excited. And if it's too early in development to show any gameplay, then they probably shouldn't be marketing it yet.
We need to ignore your comment
for me ReCore is most surprise got my attention in Microsoft E3 Can't to see more of it
Exactly. It's quite different from other games in MS lineup. Ori was also unique and i think Scalebound's gameplay will be another big surprise at Gamescom.
Cuphead was pretty cool.
No wonder they didn't show gameplay, they're just getting up and running, in essence. It seems an interesting concept though, I wonder when we might see it in action? I look forward to seeing where they've heading with this one.
From what I hear this game is expected to release in the Spring, so with Microsoft's killer lineup this holiday and beginning 2016 Q1 with Quantum Break and Recore, we certainly got a lot to look forward to on Xbox One, not to mention Scalebound, Gears of War 4, Crackdown and Sea of Thieves (maybe Phantom Dust and Forza Horizon 3) coming next holiday. Really pulling out all the stops as far as exclusives go... @christocolus Oh yeah I'm probably missing a ton of [email protected] Games, Cuphead (my personal favorite Indie from E3), Superhot, Below and Inside as you said... tons more I'm probably forgetting. I'm interested in seeing what Early Access games their are to come too, will definitely have to try out DayZ and Elite Dangerous. So excited, great time to be an Xbox Gamer.
You can add Inside and Below to that list and i'm sure there will be even more titles announced.
Wait.... But MS doesn't release exclusives outside of October, November or Decemember right?
Well, those are their favorite times for releases. If nothing changes 2016 would be too filled for X1, so games' sales and staff would suffer from coming out in the same time with each other. Doesn't seem to worry Microsoft and Crystal Dynamics about ROTR coming out in the same day as Fallout 4 though.
@EvilWay, this year, Sony doesn't release any AAA exclusives the second half of the year... they'll go for AROUND_A_YEAR after Bloodborne before they release another AAA blockbuster release. Please feel free to bring that argument up again so that I can make sure everyone knows about that in my replies. Aaron Greenburg mentioned that Quantum Break was delayed this holiday due to over saturation... he also mentioned it was delayed until SPRING. Sony fans claiming Ms releases only at the end of the year are really exaggerating\lying. Obviously, this year games were targeted towards the holidays to go with their DX12 upgrades... that won't be necessary in the coming years, and I expect ReCore's spring 2016 release is proof of how well Microsoft listens to fans... plus it is always great that they make the nay sayers about their first half of the year lineup look even more DISillusioned than they already obviously are, especially as Sony has no AAA blockbuster exclusives during the second half of 2015.
That's actually a bit worrying to a certain extent. Assuming the game does actually release in Spring, let's say April, that would mean exactly 24months of development. Is exactly 2 years, for a new IP, enough time to put some real meat on the bones and have a decent sized experience?
So what does that say about the release dates of FF VII Remake and Shenmue 3?
ffvii started development in december 2014 and if you think thats coming next year...ha!
Why would it say anything about the release dates of those two games? Not at all seeing the relation here.
Nothing because neither of those have a planned release date. btw you're comment makes even less sense since neither are new ips.
Love this new direction of expanding the library of games with new exclusive games . Let the in house studios and new exclusive partnership flourish .
I actually got a Destiny vibe from the trailer.
I'm interested in seeing gameplay for this. It's pedigree already has me pumped.
Yeah this game and Cup Head actually made E3 for me. Hopefully its not a side scroller as I would like to see what Keiji can do with a AAA budget.
That's what kinda bothers me about this news. Two years of development, but no gameplay to show off at E3? Still seems interesting, and I can imagine the protagonist leading her army, sometimes having them explode to take out enemies and later on inhabiting better bodies they find down the line. Knowing when to sacrifice them and when not to could be a pretty important mechanic, and I can see it being pretty cool. But after hearing how long it's been in development already, I'm kinda curious as to why there wasn't gameplay to display.
I'm very interesting this. I want to see more of it.
I've read lots of interviews but still don't know how they'd describe it. A full retail release or a smaller digital title?
In this one towards the end he definitely says that its a big budget when asked if he prefers indie vs aaa. Says he couldnt put it out without everyone in the studio and all the resources with a big budget.
I can't imagine it not being a big AAA release.
I'm interested to see more. It had a good trailer
this is suppose to go against horizon? female character, robots with a glowing orbs, etc
You know the two games that got announced on the same day? Horizon has been in development longer but both have been secret except for the odd leak for Horizon.
Yah horizon destroys this game in pretty much every way possible.
How's that? You haven't even seen this game... and I doubt you've played Horizon.
I guess we'll see at Gamescom.
Lmfaoooooo horizons chick looks like a man dude. But then again that's probably why you like it more. This game looks a billion times better then horizon imo.
Wait wait wait.m are you guys delusional? No need to hate on Horizon Zero down in obviously on another level. Nobody know what's this is, not even how it plays, it has no gameplay and is been made by someone who has created one epic IP but that was like 30 year's ago and not jk on the years maybe most of you were not even born when metroid was made. Anyways it does looks interesting. . Maybe you have to choose or change your robot according to the levels you play or situation you are in which seem interesting. But no need to hate on Horizon Zero down haha I understand you have to lie yourself saying this a cgi trailer will be a better game just because you are not playing the Horizon Zero down because you choose to be a fanboy of one console. Don't hate my friend.
Have you seen the list of devs Inafune's working with? They've got serious pedigree. And it's not like Guerilla have a history of great games... Killzone 2 is the only one that comes to mind. Yeah, Horizon LOOKS great, but so did Shadowfall.
Shadow fall is a great game a 7 out of 10 bug free witch is very rare and important now days. And no metter what or how good Horizon Zero down is will not make this game bad or good. No need to hate on Horizon Zero down. Maybe the two games will be good many none maybe one. GG are definitely great developers Killzone 2 was a virtually perfect game.. sure Killzone 3 and SF were not as good but they are good. I loved metroid 20 year's ago and hopefully the guy does a great game. I will not enjoy it because I'm not a xboxone owner but as a gamer I hope if he succeeded he will eventually make a game for the PlayStation someday soon. Metroid was for sure mind blowing 20/30 years ago.. i bet and hope he bring new ideas to the gaming! Industry. . I'm aware he is very unique.
Difference is we saw actual gameplay for horizon and it was universally acclaimed.I hope they release at the same time so they go head to head.
Recore looks better than anything sony showed at e3 imo this and sea of thieves is where they came out miles ahead. And if your confused just think for one second, would you rather the developers of metroid prime making an exclusive ip or the developers of Killzone shadowfall? I know I'd take this ip anyday. @EmilijO Evolve was beat of show at e3 last year and look how that turned out lol plus who even said horizon is the best ip? And how do you know what people are talking about lmao? Recore with obliterate horizon mark my words.
that's why nobody talks about Recore and Horizon is best new IP
AussieGamer1 please stop, your making us actual fans look bad. Im sure horizon will be a great game and im sure recore will also. I'm sure your not a 10 year old so please stop acting like one. Gamers should be happy all round as we are in for a treat this year and beyond!
I am really interested in this one....love the exploration angle with the robot helpers.
It is unique for its concept, which makes it worth playing.
I think it will be a great game
I loved what i saw.. but just a sneak peek into something late 2016 or beyond.. I loved how MS was focusing on the near future.
