"After speaking to one of the developers of Armikrog on the E3 show floor, I was informed that the Wii U version of Armikrog would release "substantially later" than the other versions of the title" -- Nintendo Enthusiast.
Game looks as though its been struggling performance-wise.
I think the Wii U has been the prime example for "don't release one version of a game a millennia after the others." Honestly; you're just asking for low sales.
"Honestly; you're just asking for low sales." Depends on what the other platforms are.
To an extent, yes, but generally speaking, it's basically not worth it. Juggernaut franchises like GTA can get away with it. An indie title like this is a little rowboat compared to that.
What does that mean, like a year?
Watch Dogs all over again...such a shame, since this looks so fun...
Sadly it's a trend. Between Project Cars, Watch Dogs and Rayman Legends, 3rd parties are doing Nintendo wrong.
Game looks incredible. Probably a waste of time and money to release it so late on the Wii U though.
Whats these "other versions"? because if any of them is PC, no sweat, thats where I pick up all the multi-platform releases not available for my WiiU anyhow - the PC version genuinely being the definitive version.
Then the sentence after the out of context headline reads: The developer claimed that this was due to the fact that the studio wanted to make absolutely full use of the Wii U’s unique system capabilities (e.g. the gamepad), and did not want to disappoint fans by simply releasing an identical port as the other console releases. Their an indie dev with kickstarter money, so costs are a main concern for them especially when releasing multiple versions; and if they want to give the game some extra gamepad love then im fine with waiting. If it turns out that it does become the better version then fairplay to them. Its a point and click adventure game and there's more they could do with the gamepad beyond just touch controls, which themselves would be better than standard analogue sticks. Hope the wait isn't too long though and not just for the aforementioned touch screen controls because they're essentially PC mouse controls anyway. Not expecting earth shattering changes, just take advantage of what the gamepad offers.
Just save it for the "NX" Console. If it don't come to the Wii U by next year, don't bother.
