3 Things Nintendo Should Have Done Differently At E3 2015

One Angry Gamer "Barring the whole debacle surrounding Metroid Prime: Federation Force, it seemed like Nintendo could have salvaged their showing at this year’s E3 while still giving fans what they wanted and protect their plans for the future of the company when they detail the Nintendo NX in 2016. Three simple things could have turned their E3 showing around from something that the community feels was lackluster and unengaged to thrilling and exciting."

The story is too old to be commented.

Might as well write about one hundred things Nintendo should have been doing

After seeing that Metroid Prime Blast Ball reveal, I feel like Nintendo was just trolling us for sh**s and giggles.

Hopefully at Gamescom they'll show the real games and be like "nah, we were just messin' with you."

Overall, Nintendo still had the best E3, with the best lineup of games with actual release dates.

sure it did buddy. according to you and noone else

A one bubble troll. Wonderful. Where do these people come from? Neogaf also admits that when you take into consideration all Nintendo did. It was not even close.

Xenoblade Chronicles X and Super Mario Maker looked amazing!!!! I do wish Nintendo would have made it clear that the board game in Animal Crossing was just a part of the overall game. Any time Nintendo spent pitching Amiibo's and not cool new Wii U games was a waste of time for me. We get it Ammibo's are cool just not as cool as actual video game announcements.

You don't seem to understand what E3 is.

E3 is all one big advertisement. The games? They don't matter one bit. It's all about building hype for a given platform and pushing sales. That's why you see Sony parading around the FF7 remake, even though they haven't even started development on it, and could only show off a cheap cGI trailer with recycled music.

The idea to convince people to buy those platforms, increasing their install base, thereby making them more attractive to develop games for.

So, yeah, by ignoring games unlikely to release soon, Nintendo shot itself in its foot. While the other companies crafted very deliberate commercials to convince people to buy their consoles, Nintendo made the same mistake they always do--they directed their E3 at people who ALREADY owned their platforms.

Which, as you might have guessed, is not really the best strategy to sell consoles.

So you would rather have the promise of games than games? This is why Nintendo puts out the best software year after year.

Star fox was
mario and luigi was
fire emblem was

and so many games were.

Is that why they had the most popular E3 booth? Because people hated them at E3? Get a clue

Sly-Lupin1274d ago

The matter at hand is what E3 is, not what it should be.

I think it goes without saying that gamers prefer games to ads, and fanboys the reverse.

wonderfulmonkeyman1274d ago

Federation Force and an Animal Crossing board game were not what we wanted.
Those two games alone killed off the hype.
Nintendo did have a lot of good games otherwise, but E3 is basically a hype festival.
It's driven more by advertisement and emotion than logic.
And Nintendo did not hit the key emotional notes they needed to, to seize the hearts of the people like they did last year.

Last year they were first, this year they were decidedly not, even if the rest of their games were great.

Nobody agrees with you, in fact I don't believe you believe your own statement. Unless you have serious mental/fanboy problems that is.

Die-hard Nintendo fans are outraged en-mass at the pathetic showing by Nintendo but RPGrinder thinks it stole the show.

For that to be possible it would have to be one of the worst E3's ever, yet it has been widely regarded as the best games conference anyone can remember.

If you are ONLY interested in Nintendo games and have no further interest in gaming whatsoever, then perhaps you could come away with some positivity from the Ninty show, but you would still be lying if you said they had the best E3.

It isn't a point of opinion, it is a downright lie.

Shown zelda... that's all it would take to be rid this aching void in my heart.
That and a little more attention to fatal frame and devils third would be stellar.

wonderfulmonkeyman1274d ago

They should have ignored Animal Crossing and Federation Force entirely, and replaced them with Devil's Third, Fast Racing Neo, and Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water.
They could have easily cruised through E3 without major disappointment, that way.

wonderfulmonkeyman1274d ago

The Amiibo were fine, they just didn't show the right games.
