David Game looks back at the big announcements at the Sony Press Conference at E3 and while they were good, it's still a shame we are all left waiting for them to arrive.
My guess is a price for Morpheus and a release window.
Hence the slogan... "Greatness awaits." The conference was really awesome, but the lack of release dates is really sad.
E3 is for future games, Halo and Tomb Raider were announced last year but only coming the end of this year. PS4 still has much more exclusives coming this year, they were previously announced and previewd.. Persona 5 Uncharted collection No Man's Sky Firewatch Tearaway Unfolded Dragon Quest Until Dawn SOMA Tales of Zesteria J-Stars Victory Vs+ Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess Onechanbara Z2 One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 Nobunaga's Ambition Sphere of Influence Disgaea 5 Alliance of Vengeance Everybody's gone to the rapture Dungeon defenders PlanetSide 2 Godzilla Samurai Warriors 4-II .."sparse"
There's something for everyone on PS4 while Xbox One is relying on a timed TR, a Gears remaster and another halo this fall Fall 2015 PS4 exclusives and console exclusives RPG Persona 5 Tales of Zesteria Disgaea 5 Dragon Quest Heroes Action / Adventure Uncharted collection Exploration / Adventure Firewatch No man's sky Everybody's gone to the rapture Platforming games Tearaway Unfolded Horror Until Dawn SOMA Action / Strategy Dungeon defenders 2
1. Regardless of exclusivities, this is shaping to be one of the best years in a long time. Bloodborne TW3 Batman Dying Light Mortal Kombat Mad Max Fallout 4 Star Wars Until Dawn Just Cause 3 The Tomorrow Children A lot of top notch stuff. 2. Why is everyone mentioning MS in this article? The question should be: How good is it? And not: How good is it compared to something that you consider very bad?
@NewMonday, "PS4 still has much more exclusives coming this year, they were previously announced and previewd.. Persona 5 Uncharted collection No Man's Sky Firewatch Tearaway Unfolded Dragon Quest Until Dawn SOMA Tales of Zesteria J-Stars Victory Vs+ Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess Onechanbara Z2 One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 Nobunaga's Ambition Sphere of Influence Disgaea 5 Alliance of Vengeance Everybody's gone to the rapture Dungeon defenders PlanetSide 2 Godzilla Samurai Warriors 4-II" please narrow the list down to actual ps4 exclusives with actual release dates please.
There's also Bloodborne, The Order, Tearaway Unfolded, Until Dawn, The Tomorrow Children, Fat Princess Adventures, Everybody's Gone to The Rapture, Disgaea 5 all throughout this year as full PS4 exclusives, along with the better running multiplats. Sony can also surprise drop new announcements for interesting Fall titles close to when they are ready to begin marketing this year as well. There's still a couple of months before we're in the Fall, the E3 games Sony showed were so huge they probably overshadowed any smaller games that Sony may have announced, so I can see why Sony would want to do those separate from E3. There's also a bunch of Playstation exclusives which PS4 will have the best versions of like Dragon Quest Heroes, Persona 5, etc, plus many other games that simply aren't coming to Xbox. Then there's the absolutely enormous library of exclusives slated for 2016, including Uncharted 4, Ratchet & Clank, Horizon: Zero Dawn, The Last Guardian, GT7 has already been confirmed to be coming before 2017, so that could either be this year or 2016. Plus PS4 is the only console to be getting Street Fighter 5. Sony can definitely market the hell out of PS4 exclusives coming in the future and they also have a bunch of other surprises they can announce at PSW, TGS and PSX this year. They may even drop some of those outside of major conferences before Paris Games Week if they're coming this Fall or in Q1 2016. A price cut is probably coming soon and an attractive price point for Morpheus, assuming it's not too far off is probably likely before the end of the year, which could be very interesting for people interested in VR. Sony are in an awesome position, they don't need to rush games out for this Holiday to try to one up Microsoft, they're probably going to sell a load more PS4 than MS will of Xbox One this Holiday anyway. PS4's probably close to 25 million units sold by now, come Holiday it's likely going to be sitting at 35M, I doubt MS will hit 20M by the end of this year, so Sony will still have a huge lead on XB1.
Clearly a click bait article, which I won't be giving them. Story quality = WTF? Like this site = No

I have to wait till next week to play Batman on PS4. Waiting all the way till September! I will be buying a bunch of games, and probably The Taken King on PS4. Happy I got a Collectors edition for Mighty No.9 for my PS4 and cross buy for my Vita. I have to wait till....September. Waiting for Tearaway Unfolded on PS4. i guess I should add a ..../s I will be fine this holiday season with "just" a PS4 and Vita gaming wise. Yes the exclusives are sparse for the end of the year, but it's not like The Order, MLB 15, and Bloodborne are just going to stop selling in November. People act like there is nothing to play except XB1's exclusives..LOL! What if you don't like Halo, Racing, TR?
Also Dragon Quest and Tales are releasing this year on ps4.
OH Noes, I have to wait for those too! I will have to wait for Persona 5 Too!...../s As if it's a bad thing to have a huge list of AAA games coming out in the future?!
Ya the idiot who wrote this up needs to do a little research. And still left waiting for what?
Tearaway Unfolded looks utterly amazing, huge game, with tonnes to do, in a highly unique and standout papery world. God Dreams was phenomenal, I can't wait to see more of that at Paris Games Week, I mean it's so much more than just a game, you can literally make your dreams come to life, whether it's making a game, movie, art, music or anything inbetween. It's amazing, yeah it's not coming for a while, but what that means is it's on it's way and something to look forward to. Horizon Zero Dawn is utterly immense too, massive open world, single player Action RPG, with so much depth and awesomeness to it. Guerrilla's last 2 games released inside of a year of their announcements, so Horizon may do too. When looking at this year, if you've already got a PS4 as your platform of choice you really don't need another system, the amount of 3rd party games that simply will run better than XB1, unless you have a PC already, but even then there's a load of unique games that very much standout from the usual FPS and Racer. Not knocking XB1, it's got some cool games coming, but I'm still waiting for those games that make it worth my time and money to buy the system. Maybe Recore, possibly Scalebound or Crackdown assuming they're on their way next year. If Sea of Thieves had been an XB1 exclusive then I would have said that, but since it's coming to PC I may just end up building a Rig for that and any PC exclusives. Such a great time to be a gamer!
Here's the thing, MS definitely has the better exclusive lineup this fall and I expect them to sell well, but predicting them to do better than Sony is kind of hard to do. Halo and Gears are blockbuster franchises but I also feel like people are kind of getting sequel fatigue when it comes to these games. Halo is excellent but at the same time I don't think it's as strong a console pusher for Xbox as it used to be, same goes for gears. People that already own an X1 are in good shape, but for those still trying to decide which console to purchase, I can't see Halo or Gears being major selling points especially if you're a 360 gamer, I loved Halo and somewhat gears but honestly I'm burnt out on the two franchises lol. MS needs more promising new ips in order to catch Sony's sales, I think TR will help MS more this fall than Halo but that's just my opinion. If Xbox fails to put a dent in Sony's lead after this holiday season then I don't think they'll ever catch up, big franchise releases for them this fall with nearly none for Sony, gotta give them some kind of advantage but we'll see.
Gamers are reluctant to jump into original content. Sunset Overdrive was universally praised and marketed to high heavens but still did not sell that well. In fact, a broken collection of Halo games destroyed Sunset Overdrive's sales. Same with Titanfall, critical hit, marketed to hell. MCC outsold it.
thing is most people who want Halo/Forza already have an X1, MS is just selling the same thing to the same people. Sony is smartly diversifying the games to keep giving different people a reason for getting a PS4, that's how the PS2 got as big as it did. and they have more exclusive games and variety for the rest of 2015. Sony also cornered the market on all the big 3rd party games coming this year from all 3 big publishers with CoD, Battlefront, Assassins Creed so the PS4 brand will dominate the billboards, TV adds and game store promotions.
@NewMonday: But what about Sunset Overdrive and TitanFall? Both games were Game of the Year contenders and new IP's. Is Microsoft not diversifying their catalog with games like that? That was my point. Creating good new IP's and marketing them isn't the secret to selling systems.
@NewMonday That may be the most intelligent post that I've seen here in quite some time
Nah I don't think it's better. They have bigger hits but that doesn't make them better. Eagerly awaiting Persona 5 and Tales of Zestiria.
For X1 to catch up Sony would have to stop selling PS4's for months and insult peoples mothers. Like everyone else is saying and what I have been saying all those sales reports matter. Sony has third party on lock down because of it, and now they have an insane first party 2016 coming. X1 is stuck in second place and that's ok.
I was hoping to see a 1TB PS4 announcement.
I still wait for external hdd support sony plz give us that xbox and even wii u has it so why not ps4 plz?
June 26th Batman Arkham Knight September 9th Tearaway Unfolded October 9th Uncharted Collection October 16th Tales of Zestiria October 16th Dragon Quest Heroes October 23rd Assassin's Creed Syndicate November 10th Fallout 4 4 of those are PS4 or Sony exclusive, 2 marketed by Sony and releasing anything near Fallout will be hazardous unless you are a huge franchise like Battlefront.
With exception of AC I can see the same list for myself except add in. Shonen Jump VS June 30 GOW 3 July Until Dawn August Persona as well.
add in onepiece pirate warriors 3 Nd you guys nailed my list
Then Metal Gear and Mad Max on the same day in September. Again both with Sony marketing. Sony will be fine this Christmas.
Yeah, I guess without a few exclusives, there's not a lot to play this Q4. Not like it's stuffed the gills with killer AAA, is it? :-)
Honestly just to shut the Xbots up SONY should have delayed Bloodborne & The Order till the end of the year making their holiday line up Bloodborne, The Order, Persona 5, Uncharted Collection, Until Dawn, Tearaway, RiME, etc(which no one can say this lineup wouldn't kill any other lineup) since according to MS fans the last three months are the only ones that count & they don't play games the other 9 months. Crazy how MS fans stay quiet all year round till the holidays come they come out their hole bragging bout "ohhh we got Halo & teh Forza & ummm Fable!!" Also Tomb Raider but we all kno that's timed.
That's because they're delusional. Bloodborne, MLB and the Order did well because they were placed at a great time to succeed. Just watch Tomb Raider get destroyed in sales because of Fallout 4 same day and Battlefront the week after. Remember how Sunset Overdrive and Forza were going to dominate PS4 last year? Yet neither has sold 1 million units worldwide, whereas Bloodborne did a million in 1 week and The Order has probably moved over a million as well.
