Naughty Dog Explains What Went Wrong With the E3 2015 Uncharted 4 Demo Last Night

To close out the PlayStation E3 2015 press conference last night, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was given a lengthy gameplay walkthrough by Game Director Bruce Straley. Unfortunately, when the demo actually began, nothing happened and they were forced to reset the entire thing to get it working properly.

I'll take this little issue. Game looks amazing. Can't wait for 2016 for this!

UltimateMaster1277d ago

I'm guessing the PS4 controller was on 2nd player mode or something like that. Things like that happens.
The game does run smooth and that's what matters the most.

ND should have went with TLoU2 from the start. That's the first problem. Now we are looking at a marginally better game compared to the last gen iterations, and coupled with the stale genre.

The best part here
is that all was real time gameplay

not recorded gameplay
i was happy when i saw that happen

Fallout 4 bro, unless you're talking about just the Sony conference.

Josuey1277d ago

it was amazing but Horizon stole the show for me

BeefCurtains1276d ago

Holy crap that gameplay was insane! I will pick up a PS4 for this game, there are tons of great titles, but this is the one to send it over the top for me.

I found the Uncharted 4 gameplay to be pretty exciting and it looked great but I don't think they will ever top the presentation where they showed Uncharted 2's falling building sequence. Now that was exciting.

You wouldnt say that if you saw the extended demo behind closed doors.

It was by far the most amazing thing I have ever seen in a video game.

Not worried one bit, with ND at the helm. They always release a solid product. And if the tracks record proves right, all Uncharted games have vastly improved graphics wise in the last 3-6 months to release.

So it wasn't a technical issue with the game at all, just picking up the wrong controller.

But I wouldn't be worried either way. I know the game's in good hands.

RocketScienceLvlStuf1276d ago

I respect the fact that they give Sony do live demo's.

destroyerz11276d ago

Looks sick!!!!

Youtube 1080p + compression

Screen of same scene in-game realtime

Holy crap O.O

At least they get it wrong at E3, and not at launch! <3

TheGamingArt1277d ago

it wasn't the game... so they truly have no foul here

rainslacker1277d ago

Found the reason rather amusing myself. Kinda wonder if the people in the audience saw him scrambling around for a controller.

PaleMoonDeath1277d ago

I'll forgive you!.. on one condition.

Reveal the full demo you showed the press >:)

Forn1277d ago

No worries ND! We were all blown away by what you showed.

Thatguy-3101277d ago

Hey at least these type of hiccups make its known that they are live demos. The game looks fantastic!

Blurmobjet1276d ago (Edited 1276d ago )

I know these things happen but you don't think that little mix up was staged do you? After the praises they got for that hiccup at the Sony Experience proving that it was a live demo and all, I wouldn't be surprised if that became a new strategy.
