During a livestream from E3, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End co-directors Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley gave more details on the fantastic gameplay demo that impressed everyone yesterday evening.
"There are parts in the game where you can explore with the jeep, slow down and get in and out of the vehicle freely." sold! 7 lines from the top "drwake" knowing uncharted that Jeep is not lasting
Thanks a bunch, fixed that typo :D
Yeah, I was wondering if you could really drive the jeep. That's cool. This Uncharted seems to have a bit more of an open world feel to it compared to the previous installments. I'm sure it's not an open world game or anything but that extra freedom is a welcome addition.
"After seeing the demo completed Bruce Straley feels very confident on where the game is going. The demo is a benchmark for the game. I noticed how happy he was when he got up at the end of the show. The director of the game knows that it will be a masterpiece. Naughty Dog are awesome.
Loved the entire demo, the only thing I will say that looked off was the water effects when the jeep drove through large puddles or streams. The water effects didn't react the way they should. I hope that's still a work in progress and not the final design. Still a day 1 buy for me.
Water is a very hard effect to make correctly in video games. It takes an insane amount of power.
Best game on E3 (for me)
I'm torn between Uncharted (a known quantity) and Horizon Zero Dawn. I think for me the open world stunner is my game of show. It's reveal was just spectacular. Not that Uncharted wasn't, it's just we all know Nate is great. We didn't know Horizon would look, or play, like that. It was incredible. I will say this...I still own my ps3 with uncharted's 1, 2, and 3 still in my collection...despite that, this demo just really made me consider buying the remaster for the Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta. 1080p 60fps Drake will be just the bonus feature.
The water looked beautiful is what i noticed, i didn't analyze the water physics...ND always does water well wtf. I want to drive the jeep so bad, the Uncharted 4 demo was Amazing, they nailed it, nailed the style, grfx, and gameplay. Day1 no doubt. The combat was fluid and vertical at times, it looked fun instead of an old cover hugging pick n pop cover based shooter. Driving on roofs of buildings and the jumps it was crazy fun. Vehicles in Uncharted, and co op? They could easily of had Sully being played by a real person.
With things like FF7, Shemnue 3 and TLG dropping like nukes, I gotta say Uncharted 4 was the most impressive game at E3, straight up gameplay that already seems to make new games that have just been announced, somewhat.. outclassed? We're all buying this, going to perfect my skills in the beta, see you on the field peeps.
