How Sony can 'win' E3

If the show gets everyone talking about games and initiatives that will cause both existing and new fans to get out their wallets, that's a "win." While TLG might not be able to single handedly win E3, I think you are miscalculating the impact of that title. It isn't a game to which only one crowd, for example shooter fans, would pay heed. It is a title with universal appeal cutting across all lines and entrancing gamers of all genres. If TLG is shown with a 'coming this holiday' announcement, it will fell any game before it. It is a title that will make other publishers shift release dates to avoid. It isn't just a title to sell copies but it is also a bona fide monster console seller. It's release before Christmas can singlehandedly drive PS4 purchases to take the holiday NPD for December.

As I have said before, I think Sony shifted UC4 for more development time and also to be away from the blast radius of The Last Guardian.

And advice from polygon for Sony? Please. Please just shut up already polygon.

TLG would be huge but I don't think it has to win e3. If you're being a complete fanboy of course you will think this way but if you're not you will understand it's about all the games not just 1 game or platform. As much as I'm excited about X1 you Sony fanboys (not talking to regular Sony fans) need to grow the frack up and quit thinking the world only revolves around you and Sony! While I'm certain it could very well be a masterpiece, lets's face it - TLG is more of a niche game with a cult following that has gained immeasurable hype over the years due to it's mythical status, on par with Duke Nukem Forever (previously) and Half-Life 3. It would definitely win the long time PS fans but I don't think it'll be the game of the show for everyone.

just show the games. But I would like an emphasis on JRPGS because that is what made me love playstation. It feels like as of late they haven't been doing a whole lot of that. Especially during the ps1/ps2 days where you had the xenogears and xenosaga games, wild arms, suikoden, vagrant story, legend of dragoon, odin sphere, dragon quest 8, rogue galaxy etc...

I just hope that Sony hasn't delaying its first party games because they want they them to be compatible with Project Morpheus. Project Morpheus can't succeed unless it appeals to casual and hardcore gamers alike. So it has to be a good piece of tech and affordable. If the buy in price for Project Morpheus (and that includes the headset, camera and controller) exceeds, imo, $250, it will be a niche product for the hardcore only.

2. announce 2 big games like GOW4 and project horizon
3.show us gameplay from uncharted 4, no mans sky, wild.
4. demonstrate virtual reality
5.drop a bomb like we are funding silent hills, another third party exclusive or something else that will wow us.

what i think will happen is:

more uncharted 4 gameplay, gow4,project horizon, the last guardian, david cage ( might be there), until dawn ( not far off), star wars, more indies, virtual reality and one major exclusive getting announced. i still think that activision has partnered up with sony on cod too, like destiny.
