Clipping Error debate whether or not microtransactions would kill Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain, presenting arguments for why fans wouldn't like them, and might prefer not to play the game at all.
If there are indeed micro-transactions in this game, it's because of Konami. But how sad and stupid would it be to boycott a game that Master Kojima has put so much heart into ?? Konami can add those microtransactions if they want to, but that won't prevent me from buying the game and playing it. BECAUSE KOJIMA.
or it's because of the Metal Gear Online portion? publishers would be foolish to leave it out of online shooters.. it's basically free money from those casuals (and some hardcore) that like to use microtransactions. as long as it doesn't wildly hamper the gameplay if you don't buy them, let them at it
Best to find out what the MT's are before we make judgement. IF they're multiplayer or in game uniforms then they don't affect the overall experience. My guess is they're cosmetic mts, maybe a few custom weapons. Lets wait and see
Yea... Buying a new outfit for your online multiplayer character is going to ruin the game... Better not buy it now
If it is only present in Metal Gear Online and only for cosmetic items then I don't see too much of an issue. I personally won't be buying the in-game stuff, as I'd rather earn it instead.
Konami is going to milk Mgs5 dry with dlc's and micro transactions. They know that regardless of all the ill feelings gamers have towards them, we will still buy Mgs5 because its Mgs5 and kojimas last Mgs game.
You don't have to buy them, so no
Is it DLC or microtransactions? They had map packs and the best taunt I've ever seen in a video game that you could buy in MGSIV:MGO Online...the dreaded nasty diarrhea farting over someone's face. Classic. I'm fine with this stuff. Costumes and stuff as well. I just don't want microtransactions to allow people to level up faster, especially if it's like the last time and when you leveled up, others leveled down. The people who pay would then be able to mitigate their losses. That would be the absolute worst system, where people who paid, would be the ones who get to level up, and the ones who don't get to level down. If it's like that, well there will be the mother of all outrages to microtransactions, as I've never seen anything like that implemented. That said, we don't know so, not worth going deep into it. But it would be the worst use ever and in a big game like this with a big following, it would be bad, very very bad.
Why? is Otacon dead? That is the only reason why there would be a need for micro transactions. I preferred getting my cool new gadgets and toys from Otacon, not the marketplace. R.I.P Otacon, you will be missed.
or maybe micro transactions for building your motherbase.... u may have the options to speed build your base to deter other players from infiltrating
It certainly does for me, so i'll wait until the game is dirt cheap.
No they'll just be ignored, by me anyway ;)
Nothing will kill MGS V. This is not COD, not too many people care about multiplayer in MGS, so game can have it microtransactions.
No! All these people on the internet saying that they'll get used or cheaper are the minority. It won't hurt this game's sales one bit.
