Destiny’s The Taken King: Who are “The Taken”?

Austin writes... "We see a lone Guardian looking over at what appears to be a group of Fallen and Cabal soldiers working together – something never seen in the game. You’ll also notice a slimy, almost hive-like green color in, on, and around the Fallen and Cabal soldiers. This theory reckons that Oryx has the power to control – whether via mind control or other means – Fallen and Cabal soldiers."

Well, the first Raid was Vex related, the 1st DLC and second Raid were Hive related and the 2nd DLC is Fallen related, so it makes sense that the next DLC will be Cabal related.

"I'm not sure who they are. I don't know what they want. If they are looking for ransom, I can tell them I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like them."

On a serious note, pretty sure it is just a reference to a specific group of awoken who are out for revenge or something. Doubt it will be anything impactful, a little late to shoot for a good story at this point.

Who are "The Taken"?

Something tells me that Liam Neeson would definitely know the answer on this one...

I thought they were finally bringing in the big baddy, Oryx (who we hear about AGAIN and AGAIN). IIRC, Oryx was a HIve dude.

Maybe the last DLC till Destiny 2.

It appears to be a cheap way for Bungie to reskin the current enemies in the game. With possibly human Taken.

The Taken are the Elite henchmen of Lady from Glen Cook's The Black Company Series. :)
