The absence of checkpoints in Destiny's Prison of the Elders sparked an outburst of rage, as the less experienced players loose up to an hour with no certain reward.
I once was a masochist but not anymore :D
Either checkpoints or nerf the hell outta Skolas.
Skolas is already too easy... :'D
If you have 365 sniper + heavy in whatever burn it is. Literally impossible to kill otherwise.
I was doing Skolas, got to round 6 after 2 hours, got kicked for no reason & couldn't do anything, so did my other friend. Got the scumbag reported to hell
I was under the inpression that for a gamer, just playing the game should be reward enough.
Ha, it use to be that way in the 90s.
In the 90s , our fps wouldnt lock content away under grind . It would reward exploration or give you instant action thrills .
I'd agree , but at some point the game ought to provide more , not 100-1000 times the same experience , and without much as a reward at least . If not just do an arena based fps , then mp gameplay will be its own reward . Or a co-op experience without level tiered stuff . PS : Just a reaction to the comment , i dont really feel like complaining about the checkpoint
Don't see much of an issue, plus its stops players changing characters and saving the checkpoint against multiple characters.
"I disagree with this design decision" = Raging
oh yeah,... like Crota? So every noob can finish the raid and be on the same spot as those who make it there through skill? :D
Bungie could easily have fixed this by making the rewards drop randomly at every drop spot instead of a specific weapon at a specific drop. If I have everything at all the checkpoints minus Crota, why would I waste my time running the SAME thing over and over. I'd rather just grind what I need.
"Bungie has always been particularly attentive to the demands of the community, will be willing to change the game mechanics to satisfy users again? This time we are a little skeptical." My god, this writer is thick. Really? It took months to get any improvement in the game, then they messed it up with the DLC, they've patched everything the community has found to get past their grind-wall, and then finally HoW comes, and they do good. I don't see the problem with no checkpoints, it's a risk/reward system.
I beat level 35 without dying a single time last night! 125 kills, 0 deaths. Yay haha. Void Burn is unfair though, only thing that has void is the servitor and he is stealth so he rarely shoots.
I understand the rage, but I kind of like it without checkpoints because it adds to the difficulty of Prison of Elders. It's not for the faint of heart. I do understand the blow back though. It's a touchy subject, a lot like match making for raids.
I'm glad there no check points. Noone likes to work for anything in this game it seems.
Yeh but it's a tad unfair if there's a disconnection which ends the game or if players leave the game midway for whatever reason.
