CVG has been told that WipEout "fails the epilepsy tests so much that it has to be re-engineered."
Delays always equal a better game, so thank you Sony!
Behold the power of 4D What is this toughName. I disapprove of the new pic
tough name = breakfest?
im gonna disagree with u..for no reason...
haze says hi.
That's news. So much for developmental issues, this is about health and safety problems. Good thing they delayed it.
Good thing? No. Eplieptics shouldn't be playing video games anyway.
QAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAA, thats awesome!!!!
This is REALLY bad news. This game is awesome, I want it now, and it is finished, but I can't play it because it is blisteringly fast and bright and WOW? That's why I WANT the game! They are going to have to seriously change the graphical style of the game now in order to tone it down. And that's going to take some time. And it's going to be worse off because of it. If you suffer from epilepsy, DON'T PLAY WIPEOUT! Surely wipeout can't be worse than any nightclub you might go into? I hate these rules... bah. I can just imagine it... they'd finished the game, and were just waiting for a classification and they got told it failed the epilepsy tests. It would have been already released. Such a shame.
DAY 1 buy for me!
But it was so beautiful!
I'd laugh if they faked an update showing screens with a brown/grey palate
That would be just wrong lol, but yeah when this game comes out i want this version haha
ef\,j\ k\fb.k\.f g.k\f; fwqutfrkf fpwg;g.ugw4wt Sorry, just got through watching a Wipeout trailer ;) http://www.ryuganji.net/ima...
OMG!!! You made me hit the floor laughing... That was pure gold humor right there! Holysh!t! That is exactly what I was thinking... + BuBBles!!!!!! Thanks for the laugh! Your Lovable, Bits-N-Kibbles
bubbles that was a classic simpson i remember laughing my ass of when i first watched that episode... =(hahaha)
Damn I hope they're not changing how it looks. Freaking what the hell.
Wouldnt that mean chancing the whole game completly. I hope if it does, theres an option to put it back.
I remember when I was twelve and my cousin was playing nintendo and he had an epileptic fit (seizure). Needless to say, he couldn't game again until he had grew out of it. He got back into gaming at age 17. So this particular delay I can understand
my cousin had a seizure playing damn black and white (actually greenish) gameboy at bestbuy back in the, ambulance had to come and all
of not being sued.
Ahahaha. Too pro for the mainstream. I guess our eyes aren't capable to handle such imagery? HAH!
....that didn't stop Sony from launching the PS2 with Fantavision. :p
Sucks.. because they keep fixing it.. and testing it on the same group of epileptics I bet. "ok sir, what about now?" (presses start) (seizure) "hmm.. lets try to tone the colors down a bit more Johnson.."
Only PS3 games are capable of doing this. PS3 FTW!
okay my father died of epilepsy but this is a little crazy
This kinda reminds me of that Gnarles Barkely music video that had to be pulled from MTV earlier this year or sometime last year because there were reports of people having seizsures while watching it.
wipeout > the brain
This means the final version will most likely be less colourful and not as flashy =[
It's called a FU*king warning label minus the fukcing part being an fzero pro this is seriously ruining my day re engineer is quite a strong word WTF this game was looking & playing perfect on a different note my bubbles have just went from 5 to 4 to 5 and now back to 4 so much for visiting the 360 forums
That's why we have epilepsy warnings. We don't reengineer Snickers bars just because some people are allergic to peanuts.
Could they make an "epilepsy safe" option, so those of us that aren't affected still get the intended experience? If not, I hope they don't change it too much, I likes me some flashing lights.
lolll! good one
This is the stupidest reason not to release a game. Xbox 360 causes UNNECESSARY MULTIPLE CONSOLE BUYING SYNDROME but that does not stop Microsoft from releasing more 360s. Like lagoon and Bran said F***ing Warning Label!!!
Hey, buddy, this is a thread about WipeOut, not in any way related to Microsoft. You want to poke fun at M$ then go to the open zone. It's that way --->
WTF......ur way of topic....WTF (-_-)
Wow this just made the unfinished version of this game the best game I've ever heard about maybe I can get it somehow?
Must be Fast!!! ;-D +I can't play DOOM(PS1) :-( or Half-Life(PS2) makes me feel ill :-/ Can play TimeSplitters tho???(Thank GOD!) Don't get that!!! Just play it without looking at the screen...er...erm ;-D
Epilepsy occured for the Halo fans who were sent as lab rats to test a strong PS3 title. They could not fully absorb the amazing speed in full 1080p glory,a PS3 comodity that is never shown in their system.I'm excited that this game will be for the individuals with quick reflexes and strong senses unlike the xbots who are too busy playing with dolls and coloring books
i hope they dont bring down the graphics and lights that has been the trade mark for wipout all thoes lovely flashing lights when driving..nooooooooooo pls put a warning on the game pack and live the game how it is, i have been a fan of wipout since ps1 and i dont want it to change.
how could this cause epilepsy, but not Space Giraffe?
I have Hemophilia (my blood does not clot very well) and because of that i don't juggle knives or any other sharp objects that may cause me to bleed. So if I had a history of epilectic seizures why the hell would I play/watch a game that is as flashy as a strobe light.
Because induced epileptic fits can occur to anyone under proper circumstances. This game currently is significantly above the general curve for epileptic safety that most games with labels have. (the difference between 10% of the population vs .01%) Once you have one though you are susceptible for life - so inducing a life altering and threatening condition to just sell a game is basically evil (and lawsuit worthy). (for a fascinating read on intentional induction of epilepsy by other means) http://www.carlisle.army.mi...
wtf, how many epileptic gamers are there anyway? next thing you know its gonna fail the blind test
lol @ failing the blind test. good one.
This must be one hell of a game, in its current state of course.
foaming at the mouth and stuff? Wonder how much equipment was ruined?
What a waste of foam!
Heres a clue, anyone with epilepsy should not be playing video games anyway.lol
im not trying to be an asshole here because i blive any type of sickness can happen to anyone at anytime but people with eplise should no that wipeout has always had flashing lights and moves faster than ur normal racer and with the power of the ps3 its obviously gonna be more colourful and faster than ps2 or ps1 so u should know better to pick it up when u see the game in stores.they should put a warning on the game before they sell it that way people will not have a reason to sue.
if you "DON'T KNOW" that you are prone to epileptic seisures, and you happen to be playing this game by yourself.... who's going to save you if you are choking on your own tongue? you can put out warnings, but i'd rather have sony work on it passing the test and still being "FUN" than have someone "DIE" from having fun. some of you are such idiots and selfish.thinking about yourselves and not others.no wonder there are people out there that think games are for "children."some of you act like it. apocalypse..........
some people are not aware that they could have a seizure induced by the game, because they have no history of seizures. so a warning label is not enough... the game needs to be deemed safe in the first place.
Exactly... Most people who play games don't realize how much QA goes into avoiding inducing things like motion sickness, Epilepsy, and other induced physiological phenomenon . It we released games without all this testing ... it's actually scary to contemplate. There is actually a defect type for that when writing a bug up for QA, it is called a Hazzard. If a game makes your players sick then you might want to fix that. ( http://boardsus.playstation...
especially if they are watching this... http://www.gamersyde.com/st... WARNING: if you have a history of epileptic fits, do not click the link.
Just put a freaking warning. Limiting something for a few peoples condition is just stupid.
you need to be more understanding
at a gamestop watching my nephew play dbz burst limit. this news sucks, though.
you're supposed to play this game on shrooms! problem solved ;P
looking for a good racing game... I was counting on this. Failing an epilepsy is crzy...
heh so much for people saying they are having problems getting the game to run at 60fps 1080p. but... this sucks EVEN MORE, if they have to almost re-do the game... not good. i really hope they didnt fill the game with blinking lights etc and think they'd get away with it. im not epileptic but i absolutely hate too many fast blinking lights (at concerts for example), so do a lot of people.
Speed Racer anyone? nice movie sdjabsdfinzsdgnsodlg,x_ x
nice lol what a crappy game anyways...it did excellent on psp...not
The person testing the game didn't suffer from epilepsy, he was shocked how beautiful the game looked in 1080p 60FPS native. ;)
