What's NX't for Nintendo?

What does the NX mean for Nintendo and its fans, and what could the company have planned for its mysterious next system? We take a look at Nintendo's past in order to determine what the future could hold.

Out of all of Iwata's statements this one has me most excited:

"When this happens, home consoles and handheld devices will no longer be completely different, and they will become like brothers in a family of systems.”

And I thought when he announced NX he did so to show Nintendo was still interested in hardware. So those speculating NX is software or a service...I'm not saying you are wrong but ...well maybe I misunderstood..lol. Anyone hear the same thing?

I heard the same.

Project Reality, Dolphin, Revolution, Café.. it is not unusual that Nintendo is proud of their work :)

What is the NX actually? I wonder if they can some how make it a add on for the Wii U and 3DS?!?! I'm lost guys.

It's anyone's guess at this point. It seems like they are wanting to continue to support the 3DS and Wii U even after releasing whatever this ends up being.

If they indeed will be coexisting, then something like an extension of sorts seems logical. Maybe something that beefs up both platforms capabilities and allows games to be shared among both of them. I DON'T KNOW.

nothing wrong with him per say but he just feels kinda lifeless compared to Iwata and lacks the tough guy almost Yakuza vibe Yamauchi gave off

Nodoze1143d ago

This guy is a penny pincher and has no love of gaming. It is obvious in the half assed ports he is pushing. Iwata we miss you.
