The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Review I Hey Poor Player

Hey Poor Player's Francis DiPersio writes - "It’s been a long time coming, but CD Projeckt RED’s hugely anticipated third entry in the Witcher series is finally here. While The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings did an admirable job of bringing Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski’s white-haired mutant monster-slayer extraordinaire Geralt of Rivia into the living room, the game’s somewhat inaccessible difficulty and underwhelming quests held it back from being quite as memorable an adventure as it could have been. Now, four years later, the Witcher returns in what is arguably the most ambitious role playing game in recent memory."

What makes me happy is the hope Bioware learns a thing or two from their new masters!

I´ve finished the main quest about an hour or so,did all the contracts and preatty much every side quest ,besides the gwent and race quests ,there´s still alot of ?´s around the map in all areas so i still have alot to do and im pretty sure i´l find some new hidden quests as well.

It´s been a long time since a game has drawn me to it constantlly, just can´t get enough of it, a true masterpiece that´s worth all the money you pay for it,gaming at it´s best.

Thank you CDPR for remenbering me what´s it all about.

Really, game is great when it works, but don't all the glitches and issues count. Just had to reload a save again cause of a glitch. Defo shouldn't translate to a perfect score. Here is one of the numerous glitches.

I can only speak for the PlayStation 4 version we were provided for our review. The only glitches I experienced in my play through are the minor ones involving Roach spawning stuck in the environment and a rather amusing glitch where I was swimming through the air due to a quest triggering while I was in the water. Apart from that I didn't have any real issues to speak of that weren't mentioned in my review.

I'm playing on PC and I haven't really had any issues either. A few minor bugs of the sort I expect in every large open world game, but that's about it. No crashes or game-breaking glitches. Been a very solid and enjoyable experience for me.

What do you mean "when it works"??
The way your sayin implies that the game is broken as hell and that is not the case,it has bugs and glitches that are common in imense open worlds like this,GTA had them,Read Dead Revolver had them,Skyrim had them,it´s absolutlly normal,in my opinion the game is rather well optimizaied,in all previuos games i mentioned that did not stoped them from achiving GOTY awards and Perfect scores at the time,so...Why shouldt this one get the same respect.

It´s one of the best games of the genaration so far and the best game i´ve played all year on par with Bloodborne, so if Copy paste franchises that have year on realeases with (real gamebreaking Bugs and glitches)no respect for their consumers get constant "perfect" scores why wouldn´t The Witcher 3 ,a real gaming masterpiece get them as well?

Because for some of us the game is a broken mess. Me for one i have had so many issues i quit playing at 50 hours. Look at my history if you need to know more.

Agreed wholeheartedly. To clarify, a perfect 5 out of 5 doesn't mean the game is without flaws - every game has it's share of issues. The thing is when compared to just how much the game gets right, the flaws barely even register in the grand scheme of things. The Witcher 3 raises the bar for the action RPG and open world genres, and it's a downright unforgettable ride.

That said, I don't care if Roach glitches through a wall. I got to turn a dead baby into a lubbkin and follow his ephemeral form into the woods and smack the snot out armies of wraiths. I fought off an angry flock of swimming dragons as they devoured my sad little canoe miles off the coast of Skillige. These are the things I'll remember. The minor hiccups here and there don't even come close to outweighing the fun I had experiencing Wild Hunt.

Maybe you should take a look at some of the forums and Twitter to know that people are having numerous issues, myself included, ironically some of them happened after the last update. And yes if I have to reload my save a couple of times because of a glitch or can't even proceed because of a crash error, then the game is broken.

Games have glitches. Welcome to the world.

And some people don't mind paying for broken games. Welcome to the world.

I actually enjoy to do the side quests in this game!
