I have to say, I really didn't think they would release this card in the beginning. A 980Ti costing just $200.00 less than a Titan X... That leaves little to no room for third party board manufactures to release their own, better performing versions. I mean great for customers I guess, just don't see how it makes business sense.

All prices are still speculation. Some sites are reporting $650.

Practically Titan X performance as indicated by the leaked benches for that price would make this card quite the contender. Sure the X has 12GB of ram, but everyone knows that's practically a waste and that's coming from someone who has the X

Been waiting to see this card, debating on what I want for my x99 build. Sucks no matter when you build something, at least one new component is not far off.

I love the titans simply because of the resell value. You overpay to start with your first titan card, but from then on out, you sell it used, invest a few more hundred dollars in a years time, and you'll constantly be at the top of the food chain. That's what I do anyways.

I have been waiting for this card too. Glad i was patience and didn't go for another 770 for sli.

ASUS are 3rd party its EVEGA thats not like Sapphire exclusive to AMD, plus 3rd party will make there own dont worry about that.

Maxor1210d ago

I just bought a 980 GTX...sigh.

tee_bag2421210d ago

I wouldn't worry. I had a 980 and just ordered another one for SLI today full knowing about this card.
980 is still a very good performer. 980ti is a fair 25-35% speed step but it's not the 50-100% performance gain we're hoping to get from the next die shrink .

The steady march of technology. It's exciting, as well as a bit frustrating at times, but you shouldn't feel bad about buying a gtx 980 recently. It still has all the performance it ever had. I'm sure you know all this though, I'm just saying that you have an awesome card and should just focus on enjoying it. No matter at what point you decide to buy, there's always going to be something more powerful right around the corner.

Still hesitating between this card and "Radeon Fury". Rumors says Radeon Fury will be released in June 24th.

GTX 980 Ti benchmarks (fake?): http://videocardz.com/55739...

Good times for PC gamers especially when new graphics APIs (Vulkan and DX12) are going to be released soon.

Really hope I can sell my 780Ti sc for at least $400 toward a 980Ti.
