I was hoping for this to be a Bioshock game.

But nonetheless, this is great news.

Abriael1297d ago

I MUCH prefer XCOM to be honest. Enemy Unknown was an absolute masterpiece, and this looks a lot like XCOM: Apocalypse, which I loved back in the day :D

DarkOcelet1297d ago

Both Bioshock and XCOM were masterpieces but i prefer Bioshock over XCOM anyday though.

I just love the lore of that game.

Whats great is that both games are win/win situation because both are awesome.

Abriael1297d ago (Edited 1297d ago )

I guess for me it's mostly a matter of being very attached to the Xcom franchise.

I literally grew up with the first three games back in the day :D

troylazlow1296d ago

Terror from the Deep all the way! Really all I care is that we are getting a new X-Com!

Zichu1296d ago

Would definitely love another turn based strategy game like Enemy Unknown, especially on consoles.

I can't imagine Bioshock being as good without Irrational Games being around.

MysticStrummer1296d ago

Count me on the "Glad it's XCOM instead of Bioshock" side. I loved the first Bioshock but the later ones, not so much.

I know it probably won't happen but I'd love an XCOM on Vita.

Games I want to see and will never tire of:

Elder Scrolls
Mass Effect
The Witcher
X-COM
Civilization
Fallout
Zelda
Mario 3D
Mario Kart
Uncharted
Fire Emblem

Bring em on!

GrubsterBeater1296d ago

Love your list. I would also add to that list with

Final Fantasy I through VII
Secret of Mana
Secret of Evermore
Castlevania: SOTN
Crash Bandicoot
Suikoden I & II
Resident Evil
Baldur's Gate

Don't know how you feel about those, but they would definitely be on my list. :)

reaperofsouls1296d ago

super happy as i love Xcom games

CorndogBurglar1296d ago (Edited 1296d ago )

Oh man, this awesome!

X-Com Enemy Unknown was the sleeper hit of last gen for me. I LOVED that game.

So much so that i've been wanting to play it again on my PS4. Unfortunately the only way to do that is paying for the outrageously priced PS Now, and I refuse to do that.

This is some of the best news in gaming for me. Cannot wait.

X-COM :|

No Bioshock then

What a let down

Dlacy13g1296d ago

Not at all... what a relief is more like it! Very much looking forward to a new Xcom entry.

SilentNegotiator1296d ago

To people that were expecting Bioshock, it might be.

porkChop1296d ago

Hardly a letdown. To be honest, if it was a new Bioshock without the original team I would have considered that a letdown. XCOM is a great series and deserves to shine on the newer hardware.

-shoryuken-1296d ago

I enjoyed Bioshock and think it's a great series, but this is far from a let down! Xcom Enemy Unknown is one of my favorites from last gen and sadly now that I moved on to PS4 I have to Xcom to play. Can't wait.

lelo2play1297d ago

New XCOM. Thank you 2K Games. Best news of the day :)

BlackTar1871297d ago

Agreed It was so nice to get a good Xcom game again after like 20yrs of mediocre borderline bad games.

lemoncake1297d ago

Awesome, loved what they did with xcom. Hopefully we don't have too long to wait before release.

Tapani1297d ago (Edited 1297d ago )

Yay!

Due to these rumors I started playing Enemy Within again. I hope the main game is like twice the length of the reboot. The original was, and still is, such a classic. Much more complex than the reboot. However, if they make the new Xcom game 1.5-2x more complex, it should rival the original in depth.

Perjoss1296d ago

"I started playing Enemy Within again"

Good luck, Commander.
