GT news coming i can feel it!, E3 cannot come soon enough
Gear shift add-on to be sold separately. that sucks.
actually i think is something good, will allow gamers that doesn´t want to spend the price for a g27 get a similar quality wheel, and people who want to spend more get the full experience
You're forgeting that the G29 will probably cost the same as a G27 or more. Just wait and see. but at least the PS4 will finally get a worth getting wheel. Logitech delivering again.
Finally looks like i'll be getting a new wheel for PS4. Logitech is king.
I hardly doubt it will be Playstation only. Will most likely be compatible with PC also.
i agree, lol even if is not oficially support on PC the moment is out the drivers for PC will be done too
Won't be for PC? I call SHENANIGANS on that. The T300 was marketed for the PS4 and the PS3 and I exclusively use it for my PC. Logitech can't be that silly.
It's obvious that it will have official PC drivers. No need to worry about that. One thing to think about though... The dfgt wheel had analog sticks. This doesn't. If gt7 is coming, I smell project Morpheus support. As expensive as that whole set sounds, it's gonna be the best way to play gt7, I would not mind paying 500 dollars for that set. Say what you say. Nothing is as immersive as that.
Im not seeing anything mentioning force feedback on the box. I imagine it has to have it though. Translates to only $207.73 US Dollars(though Im guessing the retail will be $199)? Wow. If force feedback, its a hell of a deal. Especially if it compares to the Thrustmaster T500(both having a clutch and add on shifter, the T300 requiring purchase of new pedal set for clutch).
Sadly I can't use this for Forza 6 but It'll be fun on Driveclub and eventually GT7. Does anyone know why Logitech wheels don't work on Xbox consoles?
Last gen it was rumoured to be for MS way to deal with accessories (you need a license for accessories on XB, which Logitech was not willing to pay). It was the reason PS3 worked with many generic USB accessories while XB360 didn't. I don't know, however, if this policy is still in place (or, in fact, if Sony is still that open to actually make a difference for Logitech), so I wouldn't rule out Logitech finally bringing it in for XB1. But if they do, I wouldn't expect this very model to foot the bill, Driving Force and G2x series had always been somewhat attached to the Gran Turismo franchise (I don't know if there's some kind of deal going there).
If they did that would be great so I can use it for Forza 6 and not have to buy a separate 200+ dollar wheel.
So Logitech, can you get the G27 to work on PS4? From what I'm seeing, the G27 looks much more impressive than the G29 which looks like a successor to the Driving Force GT.
They probably will not as they want the people that already own G27 wheels to buy this new wheel instead.
Accessories need a Sony made security chip installed in order to work with the PS4. It was Sonys way of ensuring that the PS4 doesnt get hacked by third party accessories. Which is why the G27 will not work, via firmware upgrade or anything else.
sorry theXtReMe1 but that is not 100% true, many thrustmaster and fanatec wheels from last gen works with the PS4 without any "security chip", even if you plug a g27 on warthunder it works
Read this. Http://forums.Logitech.com/... The PS4 does not need a security chip to make their wheels work! it's a hardware/driver issue that causes the console not to make them work on all racing games.
it seems there are many conflicting reports on this. Nobody knows who to believe. You can look at 10 different articles and get half of them saying you need one and half of them you don't. According to the people who work for Fanatec and Logitech, you need a chip for full functionality and their legacy wheels will never be supported. The reason some PS3 Thrustmaster wheels work, is because they supposedly already had the chip in last gen. http://www.neogaf.com/forum... http://www.neogaf.com/forum...
logitech delivering again? you mean after screwing us over? i have a driving force gt collecting dust because logitech won't allow it to function on ps4, and it has nothing to do with security chips, if other companies can make their wheels work why not logitech? cuz they want people to buy their new product. won't buy from logitech ever again.
You have no idea what you're talking about, as most people on this site. Go buy Thrustmaster then. And paint PS4 logo all over it. I tried to disagree with myself, but the site doesn't allow. So go ahead and take all my bubbles, please. I don't deserve to be here.
dont talk to me about this childish bubble system. at any rate, yeah, logitech sucks for not supporting PS4 with their existing wheels. but thrustmaster sucks for not being logitech, and for being WAY too much money for a decent set up.
Logitech weren't screwing us over. They simply quit consoles all together. I'm not happy about that but that's what happened, and that's why the wheels don't work. If this wheel is coming out for PS4 that's actually encouraging for people with older wheels. Let's hope with their re emergence in the console space that they do the right thing and update the drivers. If they don't and simply expect everyone to buy the new wheel then yes I will agree with you they're screwing us over.
Lets hope companies take advantage of the LED RPM indicator. Very few implemented it even though Logitech were willing to help implement it.
Just lime their g19 keyboard with the lcd screen. But the rpm indicator will have a higher adoption.
