Guys at N4G..

I want to ask a question, is there anyone here excited about the game without an ounce of worry something?

I mean, that pic looks impressive but all i could think about is this is taken from PC footage at Ultra Settings with 4k textures and i cant wait to see the downgrade and the Season Pass announcement..

Am i the only one who is thinking like that? This game is suppose to give me extreme excitement but something doesn't feel right.

Majin-vegeta3259d ago

I'm one of them.I just wanna blast rebel scum.I know it will have season pass. But I don't care.Cuz I most likely won't need it.

medman3259d ago

I blast rebel scum every night. My bedsheets are not appreciative.

tuglu_pati3258d ago

I'm a little skeptical. They set the bar to high with the reveal, I wouldn't be surprised if it end up downgraded from the trailer.

NukaCola3258d ago

No space battles so what does a space ship photo mean? is this just background activity or am I taking this sucker down?

SpaceRanger3259d ago

I think I'm possibly the only one in that category DarkOcelet.

So far I don't have an ounce of worry. People have been saying that Halo 5's single player is going to be amazing and yet no one has seen one bit of it. And they completely changed the multiplayer after the beta, so it's just as speculative. I get that Dice might not have the best practices in the industry, but their gameplay is almost always, in my opinion, top notch.

And visuals, as much as visuals do matter to me (I mean really.. why would I pay the same price for my game if my console doesn't output like other consoles, just like how people complain about DLC not being the same on all consoles sometimes) gameplay with this game, that's all that matters and I am hopefully optimistic about this game.

Some say it's blind optimism (like when I said that this is going to possibly be the top selling game of the holiday because of the movie) but its strategic and well thought out optimism.

I'll eat crow if I'm wrong, but as of right now it doesn't take a genius to know that Dice has a lot riding on this game and that its gonna be one of the biggest hits of this year.

Just having the name "Star Wars" in its title pretty much muffles out any sci-fi competition of any entertainment category.

I think Dice is well aware that if it plays anything like Battlefield, they're probably going to be dead in the water in terms of reputation.

Transistor3259d ago

Not worried in the slightest. It's one of my most anticipate games of 2015.

Concertoine3259d ago (Edited 3259d ago )

You should be worried. If we just keep accepting games from publishers with a history of dishonesty at face value, we'll keep getting the same crap over and over.

All i know is, the past two games i played from EA/Dice were BF3 and 4. Two games that took a year of patches to get hit quality they should have had at launch.

_-EDMIX-_3259d ago

Agreed.

@Concertoine, that can be said about many, many games...hell that can be said about Witcher 3 as its getting patched isn't it?

BF4 was the only game that they had a huge issue with as I got BF3 a launch and played it fine at launch and clearly the issues I had got patched, but thats the way it is with network games.

BF4 came on 5 systems and with a new engine.

In terms of patches....TF2 is still getting patched TODAY! Thats the way it is with network games, they will always work to make it better.

COD, Halo, Destiny etc they will always get patched pretty long term.

BF4 is the only title they had huge issues with and rightfully so, they don't just make 5 system games with new engines on new next gen systems at launch everyday.

No game will ever on its last patch be of a quality that it "should have been" at launch that isn't even feasible. Not saying BF4's launch was ok, but no launch of no game will ever be compared to its last patch, its just unrealistic and not feasible based on how technology works.

Games are subjective, what you think is bad quality or unacceptable isn't to many gamers. Many gamers are actually more understanding to the issue then many actually think, as to why BF4 is still one of the most played online games.

AC Unity and BF4 are not great examples of games that launch great, we can all agree on that, but I don't really think many care THAT much as the game's were patched and both publishers publicly admitted fault.

I don't think any of us legit can just name any publisher or game that will just launch with perfect quality. I'll get SW BF DAY 1 and still not have much trouble with the issues as it will get patched regardless of how it launches.

Again...some of the top MP games today......still get patched, CSS, CSGO, TF2 and yes...BF4. Soo worry? Not really, its expected as this isn't my first launch with a game that focuses on a network, hell I can't even name a MP game I've played at launch that was perfect or didn't need patches etc.

MasterCornholio3259d ago

Well it is EA.

Don't worry your not the only one who's a bit worried about this game.

I just hope they show it off an actual PS4 at Sonys conference.

Baka-akaB3259d ago (Edited 3259d ago )

Not exactly worried , people other than journalists saw it a bit . And even if not experts , and even if it's a bullshot or from the pc version , they all attest to something at least somewhat close .

i'm more worried about the state of launch and servers

Enyxodin3259d ago

EA is the only publisher that I have the slightest trust in. Every battlefield game has never lied about its graphics...and also not their other franchises. I don't get why EA has bren voted down for being the worst publisher when in fact ubi and activision is the better contenders.

EA takes more risks than the counterparts by putting money on Mirror's edge for ex. An ip that didnt sell so well...and not everything is about the money

But I am not saying EA doesn't have flaws! But the best of the worst

Thisisjuju3259d ago

@DarkOcelet,

Frankly the track record of the EA/Dice consortium has me skeptical about this game. Fool me once and all that.

I heard from a friend who attending a star wars convention recently that the gameplay for this looks solid, however I am still skeptical because the same could be said of BF3/BF4 and it was quite the buggy mess upon release.

I suppose we will see closer to the time, hopefully we get a beta to trial things out.

Dirtnapstor3259d ago

No worries here. DICE products look good and play well. I have no concerns, this game will be spectacular. I just hope the battlefields will not be limiting. I haven't read up on it lately, but it'd be cool if the battles are progressive like MAG was but bigger. Take advantage of the scope of a planet, not one little area.

VerminSC3259d ago

I hate season passes and dlc but if the game has enough content from the start it doesn't bother me.

I'm not annoyed, whatsoever, at the announcement of bloodborne dlc. I'm insanely excited because i don't feel like they held things back. As for Battlefront, if it has enough content from the start, i could care less about the DLC.

Besides all the launch problems, i thought battlefield 4 had plenty of content from the start. I never bought the DLC and still enjoyed the game for over a year.

OB1Biker3259d ago

Couldnt care less about 'downgrade' (from what?) as long as it looks great when released

Coach_McGuirk3259d ago

official screenshots will always look better than the actual game. I don't understand why this is an issue all of a sudden. It's always been like this.

garrettbobbyferguson3259d ago

Companies lying about their product is okay because "it's always been like this"???

starchild3259d ago

No, it's not simply because it has always happened that makes it ok, it's because any rational, intelligent person understands that games in development are always subject to change. There's no way around it.

The only thing developers could do to guarantee no changes occur that may be seen as "downgrades" would be to wait until the game is finished before they show it. But gamers would not like that (I know I sure as hell wouldn't like it) and it would be very bad for developers who need to get the word out about their games. I prefer the way things are now. Developers show what they are working on and we recognize that its just a WIP build that is subject to change.

rainslacker3259d ago

The screenshots don't bug me as much as showing games running on hardware much more powerful than the game is going to be running on. There are reasons for high quality screenshots that go beyond trying to trick the customer. Although most of it is a throwback to the print media days.

Brotard3259d ago

You seriously just can't let people be excited for the games they are excited about? If you aren't excited thats fine, you can even state you aren't excited. Some people don't feel like picking every detail about this game apart to just be let down. Some people just want it to come out and play it as it is, and not whine like babies.

Baka-akaB3259d ago (Edited 3259d ago )

@Enyxodin

Let's not exagerate , EA lied about stuff other than graphics a few times . And back when they were marked among the worst , they had dubious practices both for games and how it treated some of its studios and employées .

Even before that , very few big publishers has killed so many once popular and talented studios like EA . They now even admit that they ruined Need for Speed and gota bring it back to better days .

Now Ubisoft seemed jealous of the title and prone to compete , while EA cleaned up its act since .

JasonKCK3259d ago

Neither version will look as good as the hype shots.

GribbleGrunger3259d ago (Edited 3259d ago )

This is going to be Destiny with Chewbacca. Hype will sell it, reality will kill it ... but 'numbskulls' will sustain it.

garyanderson3259d ago

That's undoubtedly a cutscene screenshot, no more representative of gameplay than the trailer that came out last month. Definitely no time to be excited, but still too early to worry.

Moldiver3259d ago

The shots and the trailer look a touch above what I have seen so far on either console. So I dont believe it. I would like to be wrong.

What I do, is that its a multiplayer starwars game, developed by DICE. Launch issues aside, they design good multiplayer experiences with long legs. As long as they stay cloe to the original formula but make the right advancements, then its has a good chance of being a good game. shame we wont have orbital to ground battles. And I would have like the player count upped to 120. But the hardware aint up for that. And with 40 players that sort of thing can make the battle field seem a little sparse. I expect BF sized areas. Wont need to be any bigger seeing as they wont be factoring in x-wings and tie fighters. And AT that we cant control is kind of a bummer.

But with all that said Im hoping for a solid shooter. If they fail...well I still have halo 5 :)

skebik73259d ago

where did y see the 4k textures and ultra settings in this pic?
we can only see a black stardestroyer and some blurry rock-textures even the sdestroyer in star wars rogue leader 3 on gamecube is better on 60fps..
this is a downgrade from
the last trailer.
which is far better than this pic and when pcusers was yelling that this trailer is from pc dice confirmed that this was from ps4.
go all and watch the last trailer from sw-bf and then compare it to this pic
if this is 4k/ultra settings on pc then i will sell my rig and get a ps4.
for me this goes for a smooth silent downgrade....

3259d ago
NuggetsOfGod3259d ago

I don't thinj I have ever seen fake frostbite pics.

Has ea ever downgraded a game?

Aenea3259d ago

I'm excited! Never played any of the other Battlefront games and honestly, I like Battlefield 4 and think it looks great. If they can pull off the same level of graphics and great gameplay but with Star Wars stuff instead I'm so gonna love it!

So yes, I'm excited!

Will it look as good as the trailers we've seen? Don't care, I know it will look as good as BF 4 does!

Might it have less content than the other Battlefront games? Don't care, this will be my 1st one and anything Star Wars related will be awesome to me!

Will it have DLC and/or a Season Pass? Am sure it will and I don't care, I will want more content 'cos I will probably like the game!

I wanna *pew, pew*!

cooperdnizzle3259d ago

Something that is kinda funny. If anything Star Wars related would be awesome to you, then why haven't you played the Battlefront games?? I mean they are Star Wars related so they should be awesome to you... Right?

Aenea3258d ago

@cooperdnizzle haha, yeah you're totally right. Back when they were released I was kinda busy with other stuff and had one of those periods in life I wasn't so much into gaming which is something that comes and goes for me at times. Had many of those in my 35 years of video gaming :)

Also, I never really used to be into shooter games, but past few years I certainly am.

Besides all that I still have a gigantic list of games I would want to play some time so I hadn't gotten around to them just yet.

Erik73573259d ago

Im sure the graphics will be fine.

What bothers me is only 12 maps and 40 players.

WilDRangeRfc3259d ago

Try to think of it as a different game from Battlefield, your concerned because there is not 64 players, well it is not a BF game.
I am positive that it is 40 for a good reason and has been tested to see if the player count fits the gameplay correctly.
As long as the maps are not void of players and theres enough action then I dont think 40 players will be a bad thing,I think it will be a great game tbh and I dont even like Star Wars

Letthewookiewin3259d ago

Ya Dark, I'm with ya on that, I'm excited for the game but I have to realize it's most likely not going to look like that on consoles.

Cokelogic3259d ago

You sense a disturbance in the force.

Bobby Kotex3259d ago

Considering I also have a gaming pc, no.

RealFry3259d ago (Edited 3259d ago )

No. You are absolutely paranoid / reaching.

Now, go blind fold yourself... then slowly reach out for your mouse and click that button for one click checkout on Amazon and pre-order the Deluxe Edition, don't check previews, news updates from online articles or early reviews. And be sure to buy the season pass when it comes out. EA and DICE are on it like the smooth launch of BF4, they has your back...It's in the game, or so they say. /s

rainslacker3259d ago (Edited 3259d ago )

I'm not worried. I know it will be a broken, unbalanced mess on day one. I'd like to think otherwise, or give DICE the benefit of the doubt, but how many games under such a heavy deadline come out working properly?

If someone expects that, then they won't be disappointed on day one, but there is a slim chance they may be pleasantly surprised.

Edit: Sorry that was supposed to be a reply to mastercornholio above.

Mozef3259d ago

that qustion came to my mind!,

SegaGamer3259d ago

Basically, my worry is EA mainly, i don't trust them. There is going to be a ton of DLC ( the thing i hate most about gaming ) It hasn't been confirmed but we all know there will be a lot of it.

I am also worried about what is going to actually feature. It's actually looking like we are going to get less features than we did in Battlefront 2, and that game was released 10 years ago.

We just want an upgrade on Battlefront 2, not a step backwards.

Perjoss3259d ago

I'm excited and I'm not worried.

The only thing that might bother me a bit is how they will no doubt get trigger happy with the DLC, but DLC is optional and I have faith that there will be enough content in the main game to get my moneys worth.

coolbeans3259d ago (Edited 3259d ago )

You're definitely not the only one without worry for BF; however, a word like "a ton" rather than "an ounce" would more be closer to what many are feeling. There's simply so much stripped out of here since BFII that even a shameless SW fanboy like me isn't even considering purchasing this one until it I see a hefty price drop.

Edit: And I can't help but feel that I've lost a bit of enthusiasm for the series overall in games because so many of the themes+more have been covered in previous games already.

(image attachment) until the game comes out and see if it's actually good.

Walker3259d ago

Bullshit, final product will not be even close !

d_g3259d ago

battlefield 4 Looked good as the reveal in final product

so i will trust DICE this time

Perjoss3259d ago

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

ThichQuangDuck3259d ago

Just show me what gameplay looks like on PS4 or Xbox One. I understand it won't look like that and respect that fact. Respect me by showing me what I will be playing

Ninver3259d ago

You're asking for too much

- EA

ThichQuangDuck3259d ago

It is more I don't care about graphics. I just like seeing what I will be playing. I don't care how amazing it will look on PC that is great. Even if a hud is slapped on there I will get hyped, but no hud is just like ehhhh

Silly consumers with their "reasoning"

Becuzisaid60d ago

I thought that was kind of obvious they were incorporating mods to piece this game together. Maybe not, but that's made me worried about one thing:

They also planned on adding the modded ending to KOTOR 2 but were legally blocked from doing so, even after they advertised that to help sell preorders for the game on Switch. Could the same happen with this? Any opponents have 3 weeks to bring down the hammer.
