Just like how I lost respect for Akiba once the barrel was taken off him.

Oh Konami how you decided to abandon your fans and concentrate on mobile gaming.

Oh wait a second they were never fans of you in the first place. They were Kojimas fans and you had to axe him.

How dare you.

Pretty much. Kojima was single handily floating that company's console business with his games. Yeah they had some other games besides Kojima's Metal Gear (DDR, Beatmania, Silent Hill, etc.), but Kojima's games, while expensive productions, were all commercial successes (even more so over a long run with additional sales and remasters).

Consider this, the last major games released by Konami were MGSV:GZ, PES'15, and Castlevania. This coming from a company that released dozens of games a year not more than 1-2 console generations back.

As you say it goes both ways, Konami was paying the bills if they weren't, we simply wouldn't have those games.

It's hard to see who will in the future..

Haha I laugh at ppl saying konami is dead to them now silly ppl they've been dead to me since they killed suikoden!!!!!!

Konami may be dead to us but in reality they will probably make a lot of money working on their mobile and casino games.

With $70 AAA games coming with day-one DLC and $40 season passes almost by default, it's becoming clearer and clearer that AAA games are heading for a crash. They just aren't profitable enough compared to mobile games

I just wanted a Contra HD collection...Contra 1, Super C, Contra 3, Hard Corps, and Shattered Soldier would have been great as XBLA downloads or a collection on a disc. Instead we got some ancient arcade ports and a nice Uprising game but the load times in that game made me not bother. It takes nearly a minute to load the first level!

Oh well, guess that's what emulators are for...but I would have paid good money for the original contra with some SNES/Genesis graphic updates.

"Perhaps we'll see a new Suikoden or Vandal Hearts, Both Of Which Could work as mobile titles."

As a huge fan of both series': not interested.

all I know is that MGS on mobiles sounds like the worst idea ever
