Yooka-Laylee & Bloodstained: Two Nostalgic, Successful Kickstarters with Very Different Strategies

Marcus Estrada writes: "The Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and Yooka-Laylee Kickstarters have shown us that the power of celebrity still can take you far. This concept was a bit shaky lately, but it's definitely back in full swing now. Not only that, but we may have even seen the arrival of these campaigns as massive enough to bring in a new wave of backers - facilitating funding far beyond most others."

The story is too old to be commented.

"The power of a celebrity can take you far."

Too true, perhaps this is the route Kojima takes for his next game.

Lets just hope they aren't disapointments like MN9. I have high hopes but you never know.

how is it nostalgic when it hasn't been released yet?

Referring to the type of game.

I really want to play Bloodstained, but my laptop is down and there's no ETA on when I'll have the cash to fix it, so I can't get it through Steam.
I really wish they'd confirm a Wii U stretch goal for it. They've hinted at there being one near the end of the unlockable stretch goals, but a hint isn't the same as a confirmation.
I wish they'd just announce where in the stretch goals it is. If they did, I wouldn't be worrying about it so much...

Ah well. I'll be patient and hopeful.
Worst case scenario, I'll have to get it on my laptop, likely much later than I anticipated, but I'll still get it.
In the meantime, I'm glad that Playtonic had the courtesy to think of the Nintendo fans along with everyone else.
Day 1 buy for Yooka-Laylee, for me.^_^

It's your lucky day my friend, take a look at the basement level stretch goals. Is that a silhouette of the Wii U logo?

To be honest, I can't tell. It could just be little bits of stone sticking out of yet another castle drawing, too.
