What's happening with Hellblade?

MWEB GameZone writes: "What we've seen of Senue in the latest Hellblade video permeates such a presence that watching the few seconds felt like a punch in the stomach.

To prepare for the June 10 reveal, let's take a look at Hellblade's journey so far."

The story is too old to be commented.

Looks good, we'll see how it ends up though.

Sonea is the female lead we've been waiting for.

And I thought this had something to do with Mad Max by looking at that thumbnail before reading the headline.

I hope this game is as good as it is looking to become.

Same here. Another intriguing piece from the article that has peaked my interest in the game is something the director stated...

Hellblade is not a game that will attempt to be "all things to all people." It's about what Ninja Theory feels passionate about, and I applaud them for that. Tameen Antoniades, Chief Creative Director for Hellblade explai ns: "Hellblade isn't about world domination, it's about pushing ourselves creatively to make the kinds of games we feel strongly about. Hopefully, to find an audience who'll want to play our games, and if in the process we could earn a good living from it we'll have hit the sweet spot."

Don't start any commotion just yet, geez...This is the only developer that I have seen that has shown us the development process including the not so flattering things before the game comes out. They aren't afraid to say here's what we tried and what has and hasn't worked. I'm sure they'll show something great. Come on, they are the team behind Heavenly Sword and Enslaved. Everything will be fine.

Most developers and studios (gaming or movies) don't show their pitfalls and struggles until after the game or movie has come out, so it is nice to see a change like this. How many times have you watched deleted scenes and actually were happy that a movie did not include a scene like this or that. Or seen a video games art book and were thankful a character didn't look like one of their early design sketches.

It is all a process and they will deliver something sweet.

This is going to sound messed up but honestly if I was a dev in this day and age I wouldn't show gamers Jack until my game is polished and retail ready then I'll get my hype train going. Don't get me wrong I love devs that show you the process but look what they get out of it articles questioning early work, downgrade articles left and right it's ridiculous

Transparency is something left to be desired by bigger companies. Ninja Theory is a team of about 10 working on a title they dream of and hold rights to without any interference.

You'd be hard pressed to find someone passionate about their work who didnt want to show it off piece by piece.

HanCilliers1186d ago

I think their approach is extremely refreshing.

HanCilliers1186d ago

Couldn't have said it better or agreed more.

Wow this is looking good. SHaping up to be a AAA indie game!
