There's less than a month from the opening of the gates of E3 2015, and of course the teases for the show are starting to appear.
if it's anything like last year, i'm liable to fall asleep.
I remember waking up when LBP 3 was announced and going back to sleep
Very surprised yall are admitting it was good just a bit boring. Uncharted and Bloodborne were the highlights of the conference. Sony indie focus imo was bit to much and I even forgot about some of those indie games that were announced. Heres hoping they bring it harder. Correction they need to bring it harder.
it was a good conference overall with lots of surprises like LBP3, Hellblade, NMS exclusive, GTA5 for next gen,First Light, Bloodborne, Gri, Fandango, Abzu, Let it Die... There was a good showing of games and this year will be no different. Level 5 new JRPG for PS4 will be announced during this year's e3.
i agree last year was dissapointing ..except Bloodborne ...its no difficult to surpass last year Sony show ...and i hope they do, not only with already known games or another GoW4 but with new IPs that explode the show (Crash B , TLG, Mon HUN 5 ,
Conferences arent exciting by nature, but I do enjoy the announcements. There isnt really anything they could do to make me more excited about it, I just want to see what is coming out .
If rumors of Shenmue 1&2 HD remakes as well as Shenmue 3 for the PS4 & PC are in fact true... that would be the megaton for me.
I know right? E3 is just plain boring now. Whereas before they had cringe worthy moments with actors and celebrities, now we have 20-30 minute demos of people slowly walking, pretending to be all immersed in demos with pre-rendered games. Or we have CGI trailers, or multiplats advertised as exclusive like we're total idiots. Then with multiplayer games we have to have actors pretending to be "gamerz".
Not just that, also the fact that a lot more reveals and footage is being show because of the internet and there's way less surprises now. Game developer show too much of their game before it comes out too! I remember buying games as a kid having no idea about the cool stuff in it only knowing if the reputation was good or not for it. Now we get like 10 trailers for games and honestly it's pretty hard to resist watching them and to not spoil yourself.
I guess you missed Ubisoft's show last year? Aisha hosted again.
What? 20+ minutes of Powers didn't get your blood pumping?
How does this myth persist when the press conference is on YouTube? The entire presentation on Powers lasted less than 7 minutes. The press conference was about 107 minutes. OT : Sony Asia Exec Says Something Good About Sony I'm looking forward to E3 as always, especially Sony's show, but come on what else would he say?
Troll and fanboys is how these myth keep going. They throw Sh*t at walls all day and giggle to themselves when something sticks.
It's embarrassing that you could get all those likes from a flat out lie or exaggeration
It felt like 20 minutes that was the problem. It was very dry and really took away from the positive momentum they'd built up.
Bloodborne was announced last E3 so it wasn't all bad, not to mention Uncharted 4 gameplay. They did keep a lot of the best announcements for GamesCom though.
I always liked gamescon better than e3 for some reason
@xActionBasturdx Well you're going to be disappointed at Gamescom cause Sony will be a no-show. http://ca.ign.com/articles/...
The only problem with Bloodborne at E3 last year is that the game's existence was leaked at the end of May prior to E3 in June. We knew the codename of the title was Project Beast, we knew From Software was the developer, we knew it was a PS4 exclusive and we even got to see brief video footage of it too. Kind of spoiled the surprise which was unfortunate. Mario Maker got leaked too just before Nintendo's Digital event last year as well, but only because someone took a photo of the poster.
Hoping for Yakuza Way of the Sword to be localized to the West. Yakuza 5 for PS3 is coming out Summer 2015 supposedly. Maybe we'll get more info.
Games make you fall asleep?
Sonys last couple of e3s have been a bit lacking imo. two years ago was in particular terrible with only a cgi trailer of The Order as a new reveal. Last year was better - lbp3 was a genuine surprise and bloodborne was a big deal despite the prior leak. And that pretty No Mans Sky trailer was sweet. This year though I'm really hoping we see some of the stuff everybody has said for years now is in development. Like the Bend, Guerilla, SSM, SCE London and MM games. With no gamescon for Sony this year there's no excuse to not show some of those euro games and if we see GT7 and that other game from Japan that shall not be mentioned they've got the basis for something epic.
Sony is going to gamescom. The euro conference will be held in October at Paris games week
Be ready to be disappointed then. His post says: I thought that last year's was the best E3 in history but I've got the feeling this is gonna be even better.
* I love E3 so I watched as much as I could from all my favorite developers and companies. * IMO Nintendo nailed it with their direct + Treehouse. The Nintendo Direct was legitimately funny, well paced, included good amount of info, showed us gamplay, and then IMMEDIATELY after the 2 hours presentation the Treehouse went live. * For the next 3 days straight you got to watch people actually playing those games live. Not just trailers...not just teasers, you got to watch people discussing and playing the actual games. * It resonated with fans in a way that just seemed genuine, pure, and truthful. They weren't hiding stuff, it was right there for us to see. Yea they didn't have some of the big guns PS4 & XB1 have, but it was a very effective E3 and I think Sony & Microsoft took notice. I wouldn't be surprised if they included something similar. * They had 3 hours of footage compared to about 3 days of footage and coverage with Nintendo. Where once the PS4 & XB1 presentations were done, they differed to the 3rd parties developing the games for further coverage on said game... Nintendo went ahead and did it themselves. It was very forward thinking and insightful. Complain about them not having the 2 hour live conference but lets be real... Live conferences can be awesome, but sometimes also very cringeworthy and boring at times. * I was weary about Nintendo's no live E3 conference, but once I saw how they handheled it, I knew it was the future of E3. * I think Sony + Microsoft + Nintendo are all going to have very enjoyable E3 conferences this year. Can't wait for all the good gaming news.
Awesome, really looking forward to it. All big 3 seem to be completely focussed right now on having to deliver the goods. Sony wants to retain their lead and shows lots of new stuff, Microsoft is playing catch-up but now with Phil Spencer in charge finally seem to have their eye back on the ball, so I expect good things from them as well, and Nintendo will hopefully come with some surprise announcements, because they kinda have to do SOMETHING in order to keep the WiiU interesting while we eagerly await what their NX will be all about. Also excited about what 3rd party will be announcing, like a new Red Dead game.
I'm really excited to see what Microsoft has up its sleeve. Hoping we finally see some Crackdown footage and more stuff on Halo 5 and Rise of the Tomb Raider. Nintendo is slowly making me want a WiiU, so if they've got something as equally awesome looking as Splattoon, sign me up.
I think MS is setup to have the best show to be honest. Before I get flamed, I have a PS4 and no X1, but I'm hoping they do have a good show. Best case scenario all the games on x1 that I want also coming to PC. Not really interested in Halo so I think there is a good chance.
Nintendo already has numerous games coming out this year and more into 2016. 2015 still has Star Fox, Xenoblade X, Devil's Third, Fatal Frame, Mario Maker and Yoshi's Wooly World plus DLC for Smash Bros and Splatoon. Japan may also get Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei this winter. Iwata told us recently that there are more new games to announce for Wii U and 3DS, games in which are releasing some time before April 2016. There's also various indie game releases coming out later this year. I think Sword & Soldiers just released.
I'll believe it when I see it
Yeah, I doubt they'll have much to show..... http://nintendoinquirer.com...
Hell, 6 of them are ps4....4 xbox one.....3 wiiu.....
I'll be honest, I don't understand your comment
I don't know what I saw either.
It was sarcasm. Picture was of upcoming console+game bundles. 6 in total and 5 with unknown games attached. Three of which could easily be COD/Ass Creed/Star Wars though as they are all heavily rumoured to be partnered with Playstation this year.
I think Transistor is being sarcastic, everyone.
Come on people, this is why /s was created
I've been waiting for Dummy Sku, like forever. How many times has it missed the listed release dates now?
Most overhyped SKU ever. It's going to bomb.
Did they take those dummy books and turned them into games?
I hope it's like their E3 2010 press conference.
I hope it's like their 2005 press conference.
I'm good as long as there's something about MGS..and God I hope Sony doesn't pull another TV/Movie stunt like Powers at last years E3. That was hard to watch.
I'm expecting a great E3 in general and especially from Sony. Most of their first-parties are working on announced games; I imagine we'll see some of those. We're also supposedly getting a release date for No Man's Sky. If Sony is smart, they'll drop it around the holidays to kill some of the Halo hype. That Godzilla game is slated for July, so maybe they'll premier the gameplay? Also set to release on the same day is GOW3 HD; wouldn't be surprised to see that and possibly even a new chapter in Kratos' tale, although I'd personally rather see Santa Monica make something new. Hmm, what else? I'm throwing out everything I can think of if you couldn't tell... Until Dawn release date? Gameplay for Everybody's Gone to the Rapture? Deep Down may show up, although it's supposedly in development hell Gran Turismo 7? Hot Shots Golf? Ratchet & Clank gameplay? More info on Wild? More info on smaller titles like Abzu, Rime, The Witness, etc? And if Sony really wants to undoubtedly win E3, just show The Last Guardian. We can only hope. At any rate, the possibilities are seemingly endless and it will be very interesting to see how they stack their hand.
They simply cannot win e3 with 'the last guardian'
meh, that alone trumps any XB1 games.
@Styferion Really Lmao? I'd prefer Fable, smite, Gigantic or any f2p. Have you seen how horrible the trailer is for that game? Don't people have higher standards these days? Anyways you can enjoy whatever you like dude nobody is stopping you :)
lol, since when your personal taste became the global standard for gaming? for me, though only Halo and Scalebound that interests me in current XB1 library I can still appreciate other good games it has. Apparently people have this need to act 'holier-than-thou' to justify their taste is king nowadays.. 'Don't people have higher standards these days'.. pfft.
I agree with Aussie, The Last Guardian won't win E3 for Sony. I mean we have not seen one bit of gameplay or even if it exists, I fail to see how that can be better than any game on XB1. "lol, since when your personal taste became the global standard for gaming?" Funny you say this to Aussie right after telling him that Last Guardian trumps any X1 game(s). It will be nice to finally see something from it. But at this point I think a lot of people have moved on and are expecting bigger announcements from Sony.
Oh, you. Coming into PlayStation articles like you care only to chastise. Then, as your type is keen on doing, complaining about how "those dern Sony funboyz comin' into mah eksbawkzzzz tawpikz sturtin' a whooole lotta hootnanny!" Jesus, dude. But on a side note, while The Last Guardian would be great and it'd be a show-stealer, I can agree that it isn't going to "win E3". Not on its own. I'm sad I agree with you on something.
From Sony, expect a huge chunk of time for Morpheus and little or no time for Vita. Mostly PS4 discussion with dwindling talk about PS3 as it starts it's fade toward EOL. We'll see either a slight price decrease or new bundles (additional HDD options?) available for PS4. From MS, expect decent amount of time for HoloLens, but not as much as Sony talks about Morpheus. Expect little or no Kinect discussion outside of HoloLens usage. Probably a Gears and a Halo game announcement like most years. Expect $350 to be announced as permanent price drop for XBO without Kinect. From Big N, I expect a big Zelda and/or Metroid announcement, possibly a Dragon Quest and/or a Pokemon demo, and another big "WTF are they thinking" moment that only makes sense to Nintendo execs. No idea what that WTF moment might be yet, but I think it's a good bet to happen. Think something off the wall like when we got Nintendo Music, or the finger pulse sensor thing, or something goofy like that. Don't expect coverage of NX unless it's a mobile. With weak sales of Wii U, they won't want to start talking about its replacement to kill what little sales they have. Expect some discussion on more things to do with the nearly useless Amiibo's to finally give them some purpose.
really dude? godzilla???? get out of here with that.... Nobody want's to see freaking godzilla on stage at E3.
I dont think that Sony would want Godzilla to eat the audience. That would be very bad PR for the monster.
I was thinking the same thing when I read Provolone's comment. Sony would not want to show off Godzilla on stage, maybe on the floor at the developer's booth.
LOL it does look pretty terrible at best.
E3 is going to be a great show this year IMO considering all the rumours for 3 rd party too. GG horizon (might be hearing soon about trademarked definitive names hopefully) is promising and I d like a very good surprise from Bend studio. The more important is it should be a celebration for gaming and all the fanboy buzz about who 'wins' (wins what?) is somehow irrelevant to me as highly subjective depending on the type of games you like
Please be excited!
Let me guess 5 mins of vita games we already know. And the rest is PS4 only sigh! Should I trade in my vita?
Yea. If you aren't having any games to play with it know. You won't receive any other games. It's sad but it is what it is.
I just hope they announce things that are dropping this year , not 2016 -2017 !
Good first party AAA games releasing in or before first half of 2016 plz, that does not leave content behind for graphics like most of PS4 exclusives
I predict a showing for Nintendo new console
Every time a game executive hypes up a showing, it's a big sleep fest. I've learned over the years to set my expectations low for E3.
my favorite part is when they used to demo future OS upgrades :/
Sorry, Mr. Arata, but I would much rather hear that coming from someone in the company who we know is a gamer we can relate to. Yoshida would be the best person to hear that from, Boyes being a bit of a distant second (if only because he's gung-ho about indies and, while I like them, I'd love to see some AAA games that aren't remasters). Layden will probably just tell you it'll be great because he wants to keep his new job. He did alright at PSX, but I can't find myself liking him.
If they show some new Uncharted gameplay + announcing The HD collection for the previous ones and then closing the show with The Last Guardian release date and a new trailer that will be a dream come true for me anyway..
Here's Sony's E3 right here; Open with Battlefront and pitch-it like an exclusive. Announce new games that won't actually be released until 2017. Indies, indies, indies. Morpheus. End show with Uncharted gameplay.
What i wanna know is why is Sony being singled out for disappointing announcements? What have Microsoft or Nintendo brought that was spectacular? Thus far i see nothing....
i think if your asian then yes the ps4 e3 will be "super crazy good" lol half of the titles they show wont be coming state side anytime soon.
-BREAKING NEWS- Sony executive states that the companies press conference for E3 will be good. -N4G puts it on the frontpage
