Capcom apparently plans to keep making HD remasters in the foreseeable future. They expect the new engine to reduce development times, too.
Enough with these remasters, for god's sake!
Remasters are fine. They only take a few people and keep dry spells to a minimum. They just need to remaster the right games and give them the proper attention and care.
I don't give a flying rat's ass! Just hurry the hell up with a MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Ultra Remastered 4K HD Ultimate Hyper Plus addition so I can empty my walllllet pleeeeeeaaaase....
"I'm broke because the gaming companies force me to buy every single remastered that is out" Said no one ever.
@ heavy. you are right, the correct statement is "i'm rich because gaming companies put out remasters but almost no GOOD new games so i don't spend 60$ on games that came out 2-5 years ago."
Blame mobile, tablet, and F2P games. These publishers have to think extra hard to make a quick buck like the mobile, tablet, and F2P games.
Too much people bought the resident evil remastered, so now... it got to Capcom's head....**smh**
Does this mean I'll finally get my Onimusha HD trilogy?
if they could make a new Onimusha, I would be so happy!
They're really not though, humans don't live forever. I'd rather they spend their time making as many new games as possible rather than wasting it upgrading graphics and what not, I can do that on my own if I wanted. It's times like these that really make me hate, no... dislike some console gamers, and if you're a PC gamer you should really be ashamed. The only remasters That I somewhat condone are exclusives, and that's because I'd like new adopters of whatever brand, be it Microsoft, Nintendo, or Sony to be able to experience past games from the 7th generation of consoles exclusive lineups without having to purchase one. Don't get me wrong, honestly I'd still be fine if they weren't made at all. We wouldn't have this problem if the consoles were backwards compatible (not sure if Wii U is backwards compatible.)
There isnt going to be a damn Ultra Marvel vs Capcom damn...THEY DONT HAVE THE LICENSE ANYMORE, they can't patch port or do anything with Marvel vs Capcom anymore
@transistor But to focus on remasters, tho...
@Maddens Raiders That will never happen. Capcom has lost the rights to Marvel in every way shape and form ad infinitum. You can't even redownload the content for the games they released previously they removed it from the store entirely. Any game Capcom made that has anything to do with Marvel has been pulled. This was a really big deal when it happened about a year ago. It wasn't just capcom that got hit either anyone making a game about a Marvel character that wasn't under the Disney name was pulled from shelves. The ones people noticed the most were MVC3 Ultimate MVC3, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1&2 and Deadpool though there were plenty more. I guess what I am saying is unfortunately you can consider the Marvel Vs Capcom series finished there will never be another entry in the series ><
What new games are you people referring to that makes you think Capcom is NOT taking away valuable resources to do these remasters? Their output of new games this generation has been absolutely terrible. I love a good remaster as much as the next guy, but this generation has made it very clear that these devs are going WAY overboard to the point that it's affecting their actual new releases.
Well said. My thoughts exactly. If you don't like them don't buy them. Clearly enough people like them to warrant making them.
Onimusha please And to people who don't like remasters. Please stop complaining, there are enough new games to buy so no one is forcing you to buy the remasters Please stop complaining
"keep dry spells to a minimum" well i live in California and we are in one serious drought so....
I actually like remasters, so this news would be pretty exciting for me... if Capcom had anything good they could remaster, but honestly, the only thing I can remember enjoying from them is Resident Evil 5, and even then, I played that game so much I dont think I'd want to play it again.
Thank you @deadpoolio316 and @ShiranaiJittai - I had to go back and do some research. I was working like a mad man last year and wasn't paying enough attention to news THAT big. Jeez.. wow you guys are right... it doesn't look good at all and the series looks to be all but dead now that Disney has it's evil tentacles in it. Uggghhhh -- thanks for the enlightenment though guys.. http://www.eventhubs.com/ne...
For once I'd like to see somebody really explain how remasters effect them personally Stop crying about things you can easily ignore
About a month ago a rogue remaster came into my neighborhood and started shooting and looting. Several people were wounded, even killed. When it burst through my front door it took 3 shots from my S&W .44 Mag to put it down, almost like it was amped up on something. It was a horrible experience and sometimes late at night I can still hear the screaming.
My megaman tattoo just looked at the floor, another japanese dev down the drain.
What else are console gamers to do within backwards compatibility and the habit of dropping the soap for game companies?
This backward compatibility argument used by PC Gamers really grates on me. I can't play games made for Windows 95 (all on CDs/DVDs) on my old XP laptop, let alone my Windows 7 one, as the installers just refuse to open even if I try to run them in compatibility-mode as they are incompatible, so how does PC have unlimited backwards compatibility without having multiple OS's installed?! The only way I've ever managed to get them to work is installing them on Linux Ubuntu through Wine, but games made by Windows, for Windows, don't work on new Windows....gg
while it right on some way that too many remaster are not necessary good, but still there are lot of game out there that deserve redone of fresh experience of improved features such as tweaked gameplay, graphics, resolution and fps which is 'the' original game could'n got during they era come one capcom.... dragon's dogma dark arisen remaster and port it to pc...the game is one of the game suffer of techincal aspect from last gen weak hardware...give it proper treatment of higher resolution and fps capcom!!
As long as they remaster Onimusha and Dino Crisis, this is okay with me.
Translation: Expect to never see a new game from us ever again.
I wouln't mind a Remaster collection of the Onimusha games. Just sayin
Disagree if were talking Capcom.
Unless its a Monster Hunter for PS4.
As long as it isn't a broken mess (BULLY: Scholarship Edition) then I have no problem.
I've called it when Tomb Raider DE was announced that the market will get flooded with remasters, and look at it now, publishers are pumping them out game after game. This is officially Generation 7.1. The real Generation 8 will be many, many years away at the very least...
Capcom has a lot of great games that it can be Remastered or HD remade and it also has a number of really good games coming up that I am looking forward to like Deep Down and Street Fighter V. I think Capcom may be coming back into the scene as a big company again and I am glad to see them able to reduce their developing time as they really do take too much to release a game
Deep Down was first revealed along the PS4 in February 2013. I fear for this game. It looked great, but it must have been in development hell...Hope to see it again at E3
Capcom at this same disclosure, mentioned Deep Down is having development problems, but is still coming along. I wouldn't expect to see it at E3. "We're still facing a ton of challenges (laughs). For starters, there's the whole process of developing games for the newest next-generation consoles. Every solution we came up with seemed to create more problems than it solved, so it has really been one step forward, two steps back the whole way. On top of all that, we had to tune up the servers for the online management aspects. We had a really hard time trying to develop a game that combined all the elements." http://m.neogaf.com/showthr...
I think I was looking forward to Deep Down the most of all the games that were announced alongside the PS4. The trailer gave the impression it was going to be a big triple A RPG/action blockbuster. When they announced it was going to be F2P my anticipation hit the floor. Then they announced it was all procedurally generated and the game fell off my radar altogether.
I'm more interested in their development process now, moving multiple teams to bigger projects to get them done more efficiently. Remasters only take a few people, so they can get more projects done on a better cycle.
It depends on which games get remastered I'm still waiting for Onimusha to get remastered
I'd love a new Onimusha game for PC/next gen!
The operative word is remaster, so I don't foresee Re 2/3 getting the REmake treatment. I'd snatch God Hand in a heartbeat and a Power Stone collection, but what else do they have?
Dino Crisis would be a good one Oh and Haunting Ground
What happened to making original games?
You should make a real Breath of Fire sequel for PS4
As long as the do RE Outbreak HD and Onimusha HD collection, I'll be happy.
Gotta be Dragon's dogma for me, get rid of the black bars, better textures and draw distance. Loved exploring Gransys, fantastic game :)
Yay, PC [email protected]!
Indeed. I never played Dark Arisen so that would be a no brainer buy for me. I don't care about the black bars though. Never have understood why people have such a problem with those things.
Black bars never really bothered me in general tbh, especially living in the UK, we had a lot more games with borders than American versions. Didn't mind them on the order 1866, I just loved the world of Dragon's dogma, wanted it full screen :)
The next remaster will be re5 or re6. Just my opinion I could be wrong obviously.
I got it guys. We'll turn this thing around and make money off things we already sold to them years ago. It'll work. They already told us it will. Man this industry been studying Michael Jordan's whole business with a microscope.
STREET FIGHTER II! Remake Street Fighter II!
ummm.. they did that already..
All they did was make it HD. I want a REMAKE, from the ground up with 3D graphics and all that jazz but just retain the classic gameplay.
They didn't just make it HD. They completely redrew the models and backgrounds from the ground up and I'm pretty sure they redid the soundtrack too. It's still 2D, but it looks MUCH better than it did before. THAT is the remake you're talking about. They didn't just increase the output and rendering resolution
As long as remaster games sell so well we won't see nothing but remaster a,... Looks like we spent $1000.00 plus on ps4 n x1 to play 5, 10 n 20 yr old games alone with a couple news ones...wish I could have seen this or I would have skip this gen of systems...
Facepalm! You don't need to buy them they say You don't need to buy them they say Well guess what? Instead of trying to make new games, the focus will be on resselling you old one with a 1080P coating.
Dino Crisis Breath of Fire Final Fight God Hand Shadow of Rome Maximo: Ghosts to Glory Onimusha HD Viewtiful Joe do these please
Dude, God hand and shadow of Rome were my favorite games. Of course Onimusha series but I had to mention the least mentioned games.
They have so many great IPs!
My oh my what a game God Hand was.
Shadow of Rome, Dino Crisis 1/2 (not 3), Maximo, Onimusha, Power Stone, ....you get the idea....
Give me Onimusha 1 and 3 and I will give you money even chuck 2 in there but f*ck dawn of dreams yo. If they remaster last Gen games I will rip my hair out enough of that Last Gen needs to go away we are sick of that refresh the PS2 Era Capcom games.
Eh, better than going mobile that's for sure.
they need another x-men fighter
Dark Sniper hopes that Capcom does the right thing for the gamers and re-release HD versions of the Megaman X series. It's a crying shame that Capcom has not given this series any attention. If Capcom decides to bring out Megaman X or Street Fighter Alpha 3 HD, Dark Sniper will have his wallet out, begging for Capcom to take his money. $niper
Give all the megamans i will get it
These remasters send the message that the PS3/360 generation was merely a stopgap while we waited around for today, where the games could be fully realized by the technology. The sad part is that the difference in visual fidelity and framerate is usually negligible.
Anyone else think that remasters aren't a quick cash grab?
What the hell does that even mean?Remaster the RIGHT games. Like there's a consensus about RIGHT games?and that being applicable to remasters?Complete bollocks LMAO.
