Guillermo Del Toro Laments What Silent Hills Could've Been

"While speaking to Del Toro about his next movie, Crimson Peak, I told him how devastated I was by Silent Hills sudden cancellation".

“Norman [Reedus, the Walking Dead actor who was attached to play the lead role] was super happy, Hideo was super happy, and so was I. I know there’s a petition going on the internet and it’s gathering signatures. I would add my signature to it, and hope that someone pays attention.”

And Konami just destroyed what could have been the best horror game in the history.

I am getting tired of insulting them.

I agree, it's like a bad joke at this point. Here's hoping Kojima, Del Toro and Reedus get a chance to collaborate in the future.

We dont care its Silent hills. We cared about the content of the demo. It would be wise if a studio would hire both of them to do a horror game. It can be done under a different name. Its not like PT resembled Silent Hills. I dont care which studio I was dreaming of playing this game.

Come on Sony..do something!!! 4 The Players!!! Komjima, DelToro...anyone...Red barrel...people need to start collabin NOW. Afterwards we'll have a big party when its gone gold!

Such a stupid decision, both for fans and for them. They announce a focus on mobile like people are going to be excited to play some shit MGS port on an iphone.

Sucks to Suck Konami... Sucks to suck.

Well Konami loves making people unhappy.

They made Hideo unhappy, Guillermo unhappy and Norman unhappy.

But most importantly, they made gamers unhappy.

As a big fan of Silent Hills the destruction of this project made me extremely unhappy.

But you know according to them catering to mobile gamers is more important.

I hate Konami........

Irishguy95944d ago

Yeah...alot of people don't care about the product...what could have been, the artistic value of it. Konami could have been behind one of the greatest horrors(of any medium) ever created. But nah. They're idiots. Money speaks louder and when you focus on money you lose sight of what makes it

Dir_en_grey944d ago

I wonder what happens if Konami gets boo-ed at E3 throughout their whole presentation until there is positive news on Kojima.

medman944d ago

On a side note....Crimson Peak does look like some really special horror. My disdain for Konami grows ever more with each passing day.

Get the team back together, rename it to Spooky Town, and change Pyramid Head to Tetrahedron Head.

Done.

MrDead944d ago

I would call it something terrifying like Quiet Elevated Gradients.... Spooky.

Freddy_Millz1944d ago

Guys guys the game should be simply titled:
"Sins Of The Father"
It even sounds good on paper.

SeanScythe944d ago (Edited 944d ago )

Sony E3, I wonder if there will be some major announcement. Maybe they bought the rights to this.

MasterCornholio944d ago

Yeah its up to Sony to save this project.

Hopefully they will announce that they bought it and that they put Hideo and Guillermo in charge of it.

But I know the chances of that are very slim.

ritsuka666943d ago

No chance. Stop dream please...

TXIDarkAvenger944d ago

I do hope the 3 team up again for a horror game.

Az1mov944d ago (Edited 944d ago )

Maybe that's the game konami needed to turn the tide around, instead of milking their franchises with nonexistent production values by hiring no name low grade studios. it would have been a priceless PR stunt and a blockbuster of a game under Kojima's direction. Instead, they get cold feet and duck under any criticism. that's intellectual suicide
